Yet another ObamaCare lie exposed

The promise: “ObamaCare does not include any new taxes.”

The reality: That’s a whopper of a lie! Of course, ObamaCare itself was ruled a “tax” by the Supreme Court. But that ruling doesn’t begin to expose the 20 new taxes coming under ObamaCare…and that’s just so far!

This is another of many reasons why defeating ObamaCare in court is of paramount importance to our nation and to our world-class healthcare system. Please see my very important update below – Mat.

President Obama had a difficult task in his first term: Sell ObamaCare to Congress and the American people at a price the legislators could embrace for passage – and that Americans could accept as a feasible amount to pay for what they would be getting.

The problem, as we continually warned during the “sales pitch” period, was that ObamaCare’s costs were all manipulated by budgetary smoke and mirrors!

ObamaCare is filled to the brim with new taxes, at least 20 by some estimates, and more are emerging during the “implementation” period. Here are just a few:

• A 3.8 percent surtax on investment income and a 0.9 percent surtax on Medicare taxes for individuals making more than $200,000 and families making more than $250,000.

• A 2.3 percent excise tax on medical equipment.

• A 40 percent tax on comprehensive health coverage that costs more than the designated cap.

• New taxes that apply to Flexible Savings Accounts and Health Savings Accounts.

• A penalty tax for companies that do not offer health care to employees, and a penalty tax on individuals who do not carry insurance.

• A dramatic expansion of middle-class citizens who are taking government money from Medicare, Social Security, and unemployment. Medicaid coverage will go to an estimated 16 million more Americans under ObamaCare. This stems from health insurance subsidies for those in the exchanges with incomes up to 400 percent of the federal poverty level ($92,000 for a family of four), which is about 75 percent of all U.S. households. All these new people on the federal dole will mean the rest of have to pay higher taxes to support the program.

Of course, ObamaCare includes a maze of cross-subsidies as a means of transferring wealth without even using the tax code.

Forbes.com laid out this example: Health insurers must accept people with a pre-existing condition, which mostly affects individuals buying their own coverage, and puts a cap on how much insurers can charge.

For people with pre-existing conditions to get coverage at less than their actuarial risk, young and healthy people must pay more than their fair share. Thus, many of them will want to drop coverage because it will be so expensive.

But ObamaCare will force them to stay in. The young and healthy will spend billions of dollars paying higher-than-necessary premiums to cross-subsidize others.

But this astonishing quote from the pages of ObamaCare passed into law by our elected legislators may be the biggest conundrum on taxes of all…

Section 441, page 203 of the ObamaCare bill actually states: “The tax imposed under this section shall not be treated as tax.”

Now that’s a unique way to claim there are no new taxes associated with ObamaCare – simply redefine the word “tax”!

Unless ObamaCare is stopped in court, on January 1, 2014, this nightmarish law will be in full force – ushering in the totality of a new era of healthcare in America that is the most invasive intrusion upon American liberty in our nation’s history, implemented by our own government.
