Contempt vote date set; Holder remains defiant

Rep. Darrell Issa has set a date for the "Contempt Of Congress" vote for Attorney General Eric Holder -- next Wednesday, June 20.
Plus, calls for Holder's resignation are increasing, most recently from Sen. John Cornyn. Speaking today from the Senate floor and directly addressing the Attorney General, Cornyn said:
"In short, you’ve violated the public trust, in my view, by failing and refusing to perform the duties of your office.
“So, Mr. Attorney General, it’s more with sorrow than anger that I would say you leave me with no alternative but to join those who call upon you to resign your office.”
+ + Holder Fights Back; White House Claims Support
Holder's team is fighting back, saying he has no intention of resigning. He also denies any prior knowledge of or wrongdoing in the "Fast And Furious" botched gun-walking operation.
In addition, Politico is reporting that the White House is funneling to the media evidence that grassroots Americans actually support Holder. According to Politico, "Several times a week, the Justice Department sends reporters letters from outside groups that are urging Issa to drop his contempt campaign."
