Stepping up their campaign to shake-down Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio and his Department, the U.S. Department of Justice is expected today to file a lawsuit alleging racial profiling.

Keep in mind these allegations have been debated for months, and to date the DOJ has yet to produce even one piece of credible evidence supporting the claims and the lawsuit.

According to numerous reports including Liberty News Network, the two-sides were to have negotiated an agreement with the lawsuit being the last resort. However, Arpaio says, the DOJ made little attempt at working together and talks quickly broke down when Arpaio refused to allow the DOJ to usurp his authority by installing a court-appointed  monitor inside his office to "clear every decision the Sheriff makes."

We've said this before, but it bears repeating -- especially now considering the DOJ's lawsuit against the Sheriff and his department -- this is a politically motivated witch hunt designed to neuter and silence a dedicated law professional who by all accounts is doing his job superbly.

Holder and his minions at the DOJ are merely trying to clear a path for Obama to pander to and win Hispanic support.
