Once again, Congress is playing its traditional pre-Christmas games as House and Senate leaders are unable to agree on a plan to extend the Middle Class Tax Cuts through 2012.
Instead, the Senate is insisting on a 60-day extension -- just another example of our leaders “kicking the can” down the road and leaving taxpaying citizens vulnerable. Even worse, the Left is choosing to support environmentalist extremists who oppose the Keystone pipeline over permanent tax cuts for the middle class!
Such short-term gimmicks like the two-month extension put even more strain on our struggling economy by causing instability for our nation’s job market. How can businesses or families plan when Congress refuses to provide a stable climate for our economy?
Plus, if Congress fails to agree on an extension of the Middle Class tax cut, the average family will pay on average an additional $1,000 in taxes next year. It’s time for Congress to stop playing games with our paychecks and take action to protect the Middle Class during these tough economic times!
