In San Francisco,after a brutal eviction, the people retook Justin Herman Plaza at the Embarcadero and strong support led to the police backing down. There were casualties that Mayor Ed Lee will have to answer for.

December 7, 2011, police raided Justin Herman Plaza at the Embarcadero, one of four encampments in San Francisco. Approximately 70 Occupy San Francisco protesters were arrested.
