Chanting 'Hell no! We won't go!' hundreds of demonstrators stormed Wall Street last night to confront New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg, vowing to defend their encampment in Zuccotti Park for a 28th day.

As he dined at downtown's posh Cipriani restaurant, having endorsed a 7am clean-up of the 'unsanitary' Occupy Wall Street encampment, protesters attempted to deliver the mayor a petition with 310,000 signatures supporting the their right to remain in the park. But the mayor refused to come out of the restaurant, instead making his exit out of a back door.

'Occupy Wall Street' won't have to vacate - Zucotti park cleanup postponed

NEW YORK (MarketWatch) — The group of protesters who have been demonstrating in a park near Wall Street will remain there indefinitely after New York City and Brookfield Properties, the park’s owner, postponed a cleanup of the area that had been planned for Friday morning.

Deputy Mayor Cas Holloway said in a statement that Brookfield notified the city late Thursday that it would put off the cleanup for Zuccotti Park and that it believed it “can work out an arrangement with the protesters that will ensure the park remains clean, safe, available for public use and that the situation is respectful of residents and businesses downtown, and we will continue to monitor the situation.”
