Hours Remain to Stop ObamaCare

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid took a page right out of Nancy Pelosi’s playbook. He drafted his latest ObamaCare bill behind closed doors, out of sight from the American people.
No one else - not the rank-and-file, not Republican Senators and certainly not the American people were allowed to read it prior to late Wednesday night... And, now Reid has called a vote on his 2,076-page monstrosity that can take place mere hours from now… on a bill that no one will obviously have the time to read.
At that time, Reid (or a surrogate) may offer what is called a motion to proceed on the bill. And make no mistake, the vote on that motion may very well determine whether or not ObamaCare becomes the law of the land.
If Reid does not get 60 votes on the motion to proceed, ObamaCare will die a quick and unceremonious death... it will be finished... the battle against government-run health care for the foreseeable future will be won... for us... for you... and for the American people.
If we stop Reid from getting his 60 votes, that means... no drastic cuts in Medicare for our nation's senior citizens... no rationing... no doctor's offices that resemble local Department of Motor Vehicle offices... no forcing taxpayers to pay for abortions... and no jail sentences for those who resist ObamaCare.
If Reid does get his 60 votes on the motion to proceed, however, we have a long fight ahead of us on the provisions mentioned above and many more. That’s because ObamaCare will be on the floor of the Senate, where it will be harder to stop Reid’s backroom deal-making and parliamentary gimmicks.
The time to fight is now. Here at CFIF, we believe Senator Reid, by withholding the details of his ObamaCare bill in an effort to ram it through the Senate, underestimated you and patriotic Americans like you... he underestimated your ability to react quickly.
And act quickly... we must... because a vote may come in a matter of hours from now.

A Vote To Proceed Is A Vote In Favor Of ObamaCare.
In fact, Senator Ben Nelson, a Democrat from red-state Nebraska who is sitting on the fence, is already trying to peddle that snake oil.
Nelson’s caught between a rock and a hard place. Will he do what Harry Reid wants and vote in favor of the motion to proceed… or will he do the right thing… will he hear the cries of patriotic Americans and kill this evil legislation once and for all?
According to Politico.com:
"Sen. Ben Nelson, one of three crucial swing votes, won't say whether he'll support starting debate on the health reform bill, but he has started laying the ground work for a yes vote by arguing that a vote in support of starting debate is not a vote supporting the bill."
Do not let yourself be deceived. A vote to proceed is a vote for ObamaCare… period… end of sentence.
Senator Jim DeMint (R-SC) put it more bluntly:
“Let’s be clear: Any senator who votes to proceed to this bill is voting for a government takeover of health care. Senators who hide behind procedure and claim they just want to allow for debate are not being honest, they are trying to deceive their voters while helping to pass this terrible bill that will make health care more expensive."
In fact, according to an analysis conducted by the non-partisan Congressional Research Service, between the 106th and 110th Congress, the Senate approved a motion to proceed on 41 bills that actually came to a final vote... and of those 41 bills, 40 were eventually passed by the Senate. That's a 97.6% “success rate” in Harry Reid’s, Nancy Pelosi’s and Barack Obama’s favor.
We cannot stress it enough... a vote in favor of the motion to proceed on ObamaCare is a vote for ObamaCare.
That's why it's imperative that we make our elected officials understand that the American people know what’s going on… that the American people are well aware of the deceptions and lies.
Tell them you know that a vote to proceed is a vote for a government takeover of health care... period. Tell them that you are fully aware that a "no" vote is a vote in support of the will of the American people.
And let them know that you expect for them to vote "no" on the motion to proceed and drive a stake through the heart of ObamaCare.

Reagan said; "One of the traditional methods of imposing statism or socialism on a people has been by way of medicine."
Reagan described the movement to impose statism through health care as a "threat" that was "imminent."
Here's what Reagan said:
"The doctor begins to lose freedom.... First you decide that the doctor can have so many patients. They are equally divided among the various doctors by the government. But then doctors aren’t equally divided geographically. So a doctor decides he wants to practice in one town and the government has to say to him, you can't live in that town. They already have enough doctors. You have to go someplace else. And from here it's only a short step to dictating where he will go."
Reagan continued:
"All of us can see what happens once you establish the precedent that the government can determine a man's working place and his working methods, determine his employment. From here it's a short step to all the rest of socialism, to determining his pay. And pretty soon your son won't decide when he's in school, where he will go or what he will do for a living. He will wait for the government to tell him where he will go to work and what he will do."
Reagan closed by telling us the price of not taking action to stop this threat:
"And if you don't do this and if I don't do it, one of these days you and I are going to spend our sunset years telling our children, and our children's children, what it once was like in America when men were free."
Reagan had a talent for getting to the heart of the matter and his words are as true today as they were back then.
This so-called move to radically change our health care system by putting the federal government in charge has nothing to do with making health care more accessible, more available and more affordable.
It's more about the desire of politicians in Washington to impose greater centralized government control.
We can’t thank you enough for all you have done to defeat ObamaCare thus far. But all Americans must continue to make their voices heard against this government takeover of health care. We must continue to fight, or the result just may be telling our children and grandchildren "what it once was like in America when men were free."
