The subject line above is the daily message I'm urging EVERY member of our team to convey to the White House in the waning days of President Bush's time in office. We simply cannot allow him to turn his back on Border Agents Ignacio Ramos and Jose Compean.

On Wednesday, Rep. Dana Rohrabacher (R-CA) appealed
directly to U.S. Attorney Johnny Sutton, who oversaw the
prosecution of the agents to support a commutation and
advise the President personally to do the right thing.
Yesterday, 34 members of the Texas Congressional
Delegation signed and sent a letter to the President
"to ask for your personal intervention to commute the
sentences of United States Border Agents Ignacio Ramos
and Jose Compean."

This is it. If the President leaves office without freeing Ramos and Compean, they are likely to spend the next decade in solitary confinement--away from their wives and young families.
