Whats the difference? If you call yourself Christian, then these were your brethren whether you agree with their doctrine or not. This was a church school. If you call yourself an American, these were your fellow Americans and they have their right secured just as you to believe whatever they want and seek to serve God however they please.
BUT they had guns! So what? They had less guns per capita than the people of Texas, but they had stockpiles of guns! There were two people with FFL to sell guns at gun shows. The last time I checked those stockpiles were known as inventory.
Vernon Howell aka David Koresh INVITED the ATF to inspect their magazine on two occasions and they refused. He jogged to town a couple of times a week and if they wanted they could have picked him up anytime they desired.
They were sending a message, DOES YOUR CHURCH HAVE ATF APPROVAL? (at that point it was Assassins, Traitors & Fascists they had all sworn an oath to support the constitution)
The church there has been rebuilt and has officially re opened for service at 11:am on Sabbath (Saturdays). There are a dozen or so folks that live on site. The well was bulldozed along with the water tower and the crime scene destroying evidence of the crime. These folks have to haul water in for all purposes. They were told if they put in a well or fix the old one they will have to put in a meter and pay for every gallon of water they use even though the pay for the well etc. (Who wrights these "laws")
The leader Charles Pace was with the Branch Davidians 7th Day Adventists BEFORE Vernon Howell aka David Koresh took over, part of the original group that had been around since the 1930's. They are not "wackos" either. They believe in the soon return of our Savior keeping the Sabbath and Holy Days and share most beliefs of those who call themselves "Christian."
