Freedom and Liberty For All
Karl Schwarz
Greetings to all Email Update Members,
Have you ever considered exactly what it means to be an American?
It is all about freedom and liberty, advanced citizenship, but it is also about humility. The truly great do not have to thump their chests and brag of how great they are.
One of the things that I find most disconcerting about my homeland, the nation I love is the sheer complacency I see in Americans. The literal future of America is being squandered by pathetic leaders and corrupt greedy insiders, yet Americans blink, yawn and go right back to grazing like compliant little Sheeple.
There was a time we as a colony of citizens put the lives and fortunes on the line to cast out King George. What we have today as the US government is far worse than what our Founding Fathers rose up against, yet Americans just blink and snooze rather than face the realities that are undermining their freedoms and liberties each and every day.
There was a time when peoples all over the world looked up to America as the shining example of freedom, liberty, the American Dream. Now most of those same nations laugh at the stupidity they see in America and its pompous attitude that America is the “be all, end all” of all things.
How did we get into such a position of low esteem around the world?
It was more than just George W. Bush. It was more than just Clinton, or even George H W Bush. Like any cancer, it is a progressive thing and is usually fatal for patient or in this instance for nation.
It is not just that we have pathetic lying leaders. It is that Americans tolerate it as if they had no other choice but to accept mediocrity and living a lie.
Which is more important – your freedom and liberty or what stupid thing Britney Spears or Paris Hilton did today?
America pretends to be all about “the rule of law” yet not a day goes by that American media shows the world the sheer level of fraud (cancer) we have among us, yet we as a people do nothing about it.
I have asked myself many times why that is so.
The former Czechoslovakia leader, the last president before the nations split into the Czech Republic and Slovakia , is quoted as saying:
"They say a nation has the politicians it deserves. In some sense that is true: Politicians are truly a mirror of the society and a kind of embodiment of its potential. At the same time, paradoxically, the opposite is also true. Society is a mirror of its politicians. It is largely up to the politicians which social forces they choose to liberate and which they choose to suppress, whether they choose to rely on the good in each citizen, or on the bad."
The key phrase is “embodiment of its potential”. If people refuse to act, nothing gets done, the potential dies. I have said it before, 300,000,000 opinions and not a plan in sight. That is what America has devolved into.
Complacent Americans keep waiting for the next utterance of a lie from Washington DC, as if that lie will cause manna to fall from Heaven, and painless solutions to lethal problems within the heart of Our Nation will miraculously appear.
That is what I see that is dying in America , its potential. I see far too few Americans truly willing to put their life and their fortune on the line to defend the freedoms and liberties that are being taken away from them.
Now we have an election before us. The media and even the candidates are touting that this is the most important election in American history.
Is it?
I think it is but not what they are touting, nor is it the most important election for the reasons they say or what they truly espouse or believe.
If you look close at McCain and Obama, there is no change. The last thing McCain or Obama stand for is true change. It would be 4 or 8 more years of the same. The cancer would progress rather than be addressed.
Vaclav Havel is also credited with this quote:
“The tragedy of modern man is not that he knows less and less about the meaning of his own life, but that it bothers him less and less.”
I see that every day. Shrug the shoulders, go shop to help the American economy, believe every lie you hear from DC.
I refuse to vote this year for one reason – I refuse to endorse who they selected to lead us because I cannot find it in my heart to respect either McCain or Obama. I cannot find any quality of leadership in McCain or Obama to vote for either of them and hold up high as the American President.
Vaclav Havel had many meaningful quotes:
“If every day a man takes orders in silence from an incompetent superior, if every day he solemnly performs ritual acts which he privately finds ridiculous, if he unhesitatingly gives answers to questionnaires which are contrary to his real opinions and is prepared to deny his own self in public, if he sees no difficulty in feigning sympathy or even affection where, in fact, he feels only indifference or aversion, it still does not mean that he has entirely lost the use of one of the basic human senses, namely, the sense of humiliation.”
That is what has happened. America has humiliated itself before the entire world and Americans either shrug their shoulders and go back to being grazing Sheeple or thump their hollow chests about how great America is.
We either cannot or will not feed and house our own people, so how great can that be?
Our leaders shame us each and every day, to the point the rest of the world comes to the conclusion that We the People prefer to be led by the most despicable among us we can find and put on a pedestal.
Yet, about 100,000,000 Americans will go to the polls in November to rubber stamp who they selected to lead us.
It will change only when America itself changes.
Why is this the most important election in our history?
Because America is dying and if we keep endorsing such pathetic leadership with our vote, we are complicit in our own demise.
May God bless America for salvation will certainly not come from Washington , DC .
