GET OFF YOUR KNEES AND STOP BEING A COWARD
Alba gu bràth is a Scottish Gaelic phrase used to express allegiance to Scotland. Translated into English it means "Scotland forever", literally "Scotland until judgment". The phrase was used as a rallying call to battle by Jacobite warriors as they ran into battle against the Red Coat Army during the Jacobite Risings between 1688 and 1746. A leader would stand at the front of the lines of soldiers and cry, "Alba gu brath!" and the soldiers would reply "Gu brath, gu brath!" This was repeated and then a unified shout of "Claymore!" came from the Jacobites as they charged towards the enemy. The phrase is often used as a political slogan in the campaign for Scottish independence but is not favoured by any mainstream political party in Scotland that supports Scottish independence.
