CASPER UPDATE #2: MAY 6, 2010

Smaller Font Larger Font RSS 2.0

Today a program recipient received a phone call supposedly from UPS instructing xxxxx as follows.
xxxxx's  phone did show the caller to be UPS.

"At 6 p.m. tonight you are to receive a UPS delivery containing a Debit Card with 3.5M on it. The UPS personel will be accompanied by two FBI Agents. I, MARY BROWN, am going to hand you over to Manager JOHN LOPEZ who will provide you with a code number you must have to receive your package at 6 p.m."

"In the meantime you are to call this cell phone number in Las Vegas for additional instructions. You must obtain a money order for $1,050.00 and have it available for the delivery people to obtain possession of your package. You must follow all instructions to the letter or be reported to the IRS."

The cell number 'in Vegas' is the same number 'Mary Brown' called in on,,,702-490-5706. Upon calling 'Vegas' the Money Order or Money Gram amount (from WalMart or Western Union) was dropped to $575.00 as xxxxx was being given a special deal. xxxxx was instructed to wire the funds to RICARDO WILLIAMS CFO in JAMAICA and have the wiring confirmation numbers available before 6 p.m. when Lopez or Brown was to call back to confirm the wire transfer just prior to the "you ain't never gonna see it" delivery.

Obviously a fraud BUT someone has a recipients phone number if not more. And someone made her phone show UPS calling. Be careful. Use your head. No telling how many 'bad guys' have come into posession of all or part of the data bases.

There is no way for a 'carrier' to know whats in a package.

Write down any incoming phone numbers used in scamming attempts. Report any such attempts to Fourwinds and RMN in order to warn others. Include the phone numbers used.
