JULY 17, 2009 HAL TURNER UPDATE
A lot of you have written, asking for an update on Hal. There really isn't much to tell you just yet.
Hal is still in the Federal Transfer Center in Oklahoma City. We have no idea when he will be moved to Chicago. They were moving him earlier this week, but there was a problem with the plane and he was returned to Oklahoma City. He has absolutely NO IDEA when he will be moved. He is only allowed a set number of minutes per month for telephone calls. Because of this, we haven't spoken to him since his return to Oklahoma City. When he gets to Chicago, we may hear from him. He will be arraigned and there will be a bail hearing.
Many of you have asked how much money was raised so far. In addition to the CHIPIN Account on this blog, we have raised approximately 13.3% of what is needed for Hal's defense. The donations that were mailed in ARE NOT REFLECTED in the CHIPIN Account total.
Please, keep those donations coming. They are DESPERATELY NEEDED!

You all know that Hal was arrested for expressing his opinion, that is, EXERCISING HIS FREEDOM OF SPEECH RIGHTS under the First Amendment of the Constitution. You may not agree with his opinion, but his right to say it MUST BE DEFENDED. If Hal is convicted, EVERYONE LOSES his right of FREE SPEECH! Journalists and newscasters will not be able to express their opinions. They will be forced to write and say what they are told! Hal MUST win this battle.
