VOIP Magic Jack PROBLEMS.

I have had the Magic Jack for 3 months now.

I was using Packet-8 VOIP, at something like $24.95 per month, plus tax, so I was paying close to $30.00 per month. I saw the Magic Jack. And thought, GREAT, $19.95 per year. After a $39.95 purchase, Or which covers the first year of service.

For starters, the Caller ID, works on the computer, but not on any of the head-sets.

I get a lot of complaints about the static, of hissing.

Then, even after I have a excellent internet connection, with High Speed cable. Sometimes, I get a dial tone, but am unable to make a call, or receive a call.

So if you want a reliable phone, where your computer does not have to be on, in order to make or receive calls. I would look else where than the Magic Jack. But if you want to save a lot of money, and have the same problems as I am having. GO FOR IT.

Anyone else using the Magic Jack, have any input on their service, problems, good, things bad things?

I figure, I am saving somewhere around $330.00 per year, using the Magic Jack, and I have my cell phone as a back-up, So I\'ll deal with the problems. Just thought I\'d share my thoughts, so you know before you buy one.
