They REALLY want to control, tax and regulate the Internet. Check the uTube video of Rockefeller speaking on the subject, http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=Ct9xzXUQLuY .
They realize that it's our last, most effective ... & probably ONLY tool for learning and disseminating the truth ... and it's instant .... truth at the speed of thought.
Once they get the control they want, it will probably be close to impossible to save the human species from premature extinction.
That reads like a wild, wingnut statement, right?
It's not, if one accepts a few basic statements that I understand to be true, based on the last 40 years of study and practice:
1--Humans now have the technology to extinct ourselves thru biochemical, nuclear, EMF and other weapons of mass destruction.
2--That technology was created as a result of the integration of the physical sciences, mostly by Isaac Newton in the 1650's.
3--In the 350 years since that integration of the physical sciences, humanity has NOT integrated the volitional sciences ('til Andrew Galambos did so on the 1960's & 70's ... & his work is ignored or unknown by & to most human now living.
4--#2 & 3 together mean that we're now smart enough in the physical sciences to eliminate ourselves from the universe AND too stupid in the social "sciences" to prevent that extinction.
5--The ONLY way I know to eliminate the perpetual war, poverty and servitude that will eventually end the experiment called humanity is to build the stable, durable civilization (WITHOUT the State) tat will enable us to create lasting peace prosperity and freedom and thus enable us to prevent our own extinction.
6--The only way in which the voluntary Society will be built is to reach the few remaining intellectually-curious and rationally-thinking humans that still remain and help them to understand why and what's required to build the Voluntary Society.
7--Our best, most efficient tool for this search-and-educate process is the Internet.
8--The interests of the various coercive States of the world, especially, the out-of-control US Government are diametrically oppose to our goals of lasting peace, prosperity and freedom.
9--Therefore, we must NEVER allow the State to control the Internet.
How to prevent it? I don't know. It seems that we're relatively powerless to prevent the USG from doing whatever the thug-of-the day wants it to do. The fact that the Internet is not controlled by the State MAY mean that it CAN'T be ... otherwise, with their unlimited funds (ours) they'd already have done it. We sure hope that's the case.
