An Example of Rising Medical Tyranny: ‘Your Newborn Gets the Hep-B Shot or We Take Him!’

Aliea Bidwell and Ben Gray had their baby delivered at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Birmingham, Alabama, and they had done some really thorough research to decide against allowing the Hep-B vaccination, which is often administered just after birth and repeated three times over the next six months.
They had announced their decision upon arriving at the hospital without any backlash from the hospital. Maybe they had seen this statement by Erdem I. Cantekin, PhD of University of Pittsburgh’s School of Medicine sent as an open letter to The Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA):
There is no scientific evidence to justify HBV vaccination before the age when those risk factors associated with the HBV transmission (sex, needles, etc.) become relevant. Recent risk-benefit analysis show HBV vaccination among children carries one of the largest unjustified risks and substantial financial costs, second only to the new controversial conjugate pneumococcal vaccine. The Hepatitis B, or Hep-B (HBV) vaccination has been traced as the source of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) on hundreds of occasions. So what to do if a hospital pediatrician threatens to take your newborn baby from you if you reject the Hep-B vaccination?
Even if it were an effective and safe vaccine, it would be useless unless the mother is infected with hepatitis B, which is purportedly transmitted through injections with shared drug paraphernalia and/or promiscuous sex. This young monogamous couple had not engaged in either activity.
St. Vincent’s Hospital in Birmingham has tolerated parents’ wishes to not vaccinate newborns. And it wasn’t yet illegal in Alabama to refuse vaccinations based on medical or religious beliefs.
Their son, Aaron, was born naturally, easily and in perfect health, per the hospital’s records. Several family members, including grandparents, had arrived to see the latest addition to their extended family.
Now Enters Pediatric Terrorist Dr. Terry M. Bierd
When Dr. Terry M. Bierd, MD, arrived as a staff pediatrician at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Birmingham, some hospital staffers were concerned with how she disregarded vaccination refusals.
After noticing that neither parent had been tested for hepatitis B recently, Dr. Bierd decided to overrule the parents’ Hep-B vaccination refusal by invoking “doctor discretion” to override the parent’s refusal, a policy that’s valid only in life or death emergencies.
Bierd had at first told Aaron’s parents and other family members that Alabama state law required the vaccination. Not true. The Hep-B vaccination is not even required for their child to enter public schools or daycare in Alabama.
One of Aaron’s grandparents discovered this upon calling a friend who was a judge. That’s when “Dr.” Bierd asserted “doctor discretion” allowed her to force the Hep-B vaccine. She threatened to seize their newborn son, Aaron, and have Child Protective Services (CPS) take him.
But “doctor discretion” is a medical policy that allows a doctor to disregard consent during extreme life or death situations only.
Bierd announced her demands three times to Aliea and Ben while in the room with baby Aaron. The second announcement came boldly with 12 other family members visiting, all of whom considered the doctor’s announcements as blackmail.
Bierd gave them an ultimatum, allow us to vaccinate Aaron with the Hep-B vaccine by tonight (Friday) or he’ll be taken away and vaccinated anyway. Then you can try to get him back after the weekend.
What to do when just after birthing a hospital staff pediatrician control freak tells a family the baby will be gone, at least for the weekend? Then you can try to get him back after that weekend if the Hep-B shot isn’t administered by 9 PM of the same day of his birth?
Under duress from this “doctor’s” threats, which no matter how illegal, could be executed with an eager Child Protective Services (CPS), these young parents were forced to sign a consent form relieving the hospital and its staff of all liability to allow their newborn to be given the Hep-B shot.

The consent form claims the risks were disclosed, but ironically Ben and Aliea and other family members had explained the risks, even showing media items of Hep-B risks on their smart phones to the pediatrician. She refused to look or listen and insisted it was the law.
They did sign under duress and protest, which can legally make those signatures invalid. Then it was better to retain custody of their child with the shot than to have him taken away and given the shot also. Soon after they left the hospital, Aliea and Ben filed a lawsuit against the hospital and its pediatrician for fraud and assault.
Having kids during these times has become very difficult. Home delivery and home schooling may be the only way to avoid at least the vaccination aspect of medical tyranny imposed on children.
Avoiding Vaccine or Any Other Medical Tyranny
One source recommends that any MD connected with the AAP (American Academy of Pediatrics) or the APA (American Pediatric Association) be avoided by you and your child unless you want the full vaccination schedule administered to your child.
These organizations are rabidly pro-vaccination and have even considered refusing further treatments on children whose parents refuse any vaccinations. The insane Dr. Paul Offit is very influential with these groups.
Their pediatricians have often administered several vaccinations at once without consulting with parents or fully disclosing possible side effects with disastrous results. Try using a family practice MD instead.
Another way to legally circumvent threats and enforced medications is by using an Against Medical Advice form or (ironically) AMA form, which acknowledges that you have been advised of certain treatments and you refuse them while taking full responsibility for your decision, thus removing liability from the medical institution or practitioners involved.
Sometimes clinics and hospitals will ignore your demands for that form. You can find more information and AMA forms here.
But then the slightest complaint to law enforcement or Child Protective Services (CPS) from a nosy neighbor could result in a raid from police acting on behalf of CPS to kidnap your child or children and have you arrested for both home birthing and not vaccinating your kids. It has happened more than once. Kidnapping assures hospitals of Medicaid money once they become wards of the state.
But they probably won’t pursue these actions if you’re politically high profile or have the bucks to hire some kick-ass lawyers. Picking on the not so well off is the Medical Mafia’s favorite approach, allowing them to use government insurance for added revenue.
