Ebola vaccine seems effective, safe: Scientists

Scientists say an experimental Ebola vaccine, which has undergone trial in the United States, appears to be effective and safe.
The new vaccine “was well-tolerated and produced immune system responses in all 20 healthy adults,” the National Institutes of Health (NIH)’s National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) said online.
The vaccine was meant to trigger the immune system’s production of anti-Ebola antibodies, which the subjects developed within four weeks of getting the shots at the NIH.
It uses a modified chimpanzee cold virus that carries a piece of the Ebola protein on its surface.
Half of the test group received a higher-dose shot, and those people produced more antibodies.
“Maybe by the mid to the end of the summer of 2015, hopefully we’ll get enough good data to be able to determine if the vaccine works or not,” Anthony Fauci, director of NIAID, has said.
Ebola spreads through contact with bodily fluids such as blood, saliva, and sweat. It has killed around two-thirds of those it has infected over the last four decades.
The virus has killed more than 5,600 people in West Africa, most of them in Guinea, Liberia, and Sierra Leone. The epidemic has slowed in Liberia and Guinea, but transmission continues across large parts of Sierra Leone, the World Health Organization, the United Nations public health body, has said.

A vaccine takes years to be classed as safe and even then almost all of them are unsafe and cause serious health issues either in the short or long-term. Of course the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases is going to say such nonsense so they can push their expensive GSK biowarfare vaccine on the herd. Just remember all the narcolepsy being caused by so called safe GSK vaccines.
