Our Warriors volunteer to make the security of the nation their personal responsibility, knowing that it may cost them their lives. When they return home, we owe them the very best care our nation has to offer.
Instead, too often, our Veterans have faced unacceptable delays and unnecessary barriers to receiving the care they need.
I’m partnering with VoteVets and several colleagues in the Senate to support the Restoring Veterans' Trust Act of 2014, which will improve care and ease backlogs at VA facilities. Will you join us in urging the Senate to pass the bill?
This bill provides funding for three important, long-awaited measures: hiring more VA doctors and nurses, creating additional VA facilities in 18 states, and offering scholarships and loan forgiveness to health care professionals who commit to working at the VA.
These days, it’s usually the Republican-controlled House that’s holding up the legislation we support. But in this case, the House has already done its part, and we just need a final push to get the bill past a Tea Party filibuster in the Senate and signed into law.
