Gosnell, the sequel: Clinic workers describe atrocious deaths

Editor’s Note: The graphic descriptions and images here may be upsetting to readers.

Pro-abortion activists had suggested that with the first-degree murder conviction of Philadelphia abortionist Kermit Gosnell, reporting on atrocities such as his penchant for cutting the spinal cords of babies to kill them would be over.

After all, Gosnell was a renegade, an anomaly, and rightly convicted of murder, touted even the National Abortion Rights Action League.

But wait.

What about the new video released today by the Texas-based Life Dynamics, which reveals three women who used to work for a still-unidentified abortion clinic explaining the methods of death there:

Twisting the baby’s head off his neck.

Shoving a surgical instrument into the vulnerable baby’s brain through the skull.

Or shoving a surgical instrument into the chest or abdomen.

The new horrors, according to Life Dynamics, confirm what pro-life groups have known for years – that the atrocities are not the anomaly, but the practice, in the abortion industry.

The interview featuring Deborah Edge, Krystal Rodriguez and Gigi Aguilar provided proof, Life Dynamics said, “the lofty rhetoric of ‘choice’ may insulate those who work in the political and public relations arena, but the day-to-day reality for those who provide those ‘choices’ is to deal with the corpses and parts of corpses they pull out of their customers’ bodies.”

Mark Crutcher, the chief of Life Dynamics, said, “While the pro-life movement claims that abortion takes the life of a living human being, nobody on earth knows that better than the people who work at abortion clinics.”

The three women used to work in an abortion clinic that specifically was left unidentified in the video.

“I thought, well, it’s an abortion you know, that’s what he does, but I wasn’t aware that it was illegal … Most of the time we would see him where the fetus would come completely out and of course, the fetus would still be alive,” said Edge.

“He does a lot of huge abortions. A lot of the times, we would bring the big fetus[es] that were over age, we would re-open the bag and just look at it and be like, ‘Oh my gosh, it’s so big!’”

When the baby survived the abortion procedure, Edge reported, sometimes the abortionist would plunge a surgical instrument through the soft spot on the baby’s skull into the brain. Other times it happened by “twisting the head off the neck with his own bare hands.”

A surgical instrument into the torso also was used to end lives, she said.

“Simply put, this is abortion!” Life Dynamics said.

“During Gosnell’s trial, it became clear that organizations like Planned Parenthood, the National Abortion Federation, and others within the pro-choice community were fully aware of what Gosnell was doing. But they kept quiet because this was a rock they did not want the public looking under. What they knew, and wanted to keep hidden, was that everything being done at this abortion clinic was within the standard operating procedures for every other abortion clinic in the country. So they, and their lapdogs in the media, started whistling past the graveyard,” Crutcher said.

Gosnell was convicted of three counts of first-degree murder – for which the Pennsylvania penalty is either life in prison without parole or death by lethal injection.

He also was convicted on literally hundreds of additional charges ranging from the minor to significant – such as performing abortions after the state’s legal limit of 24 weeks.

The Life Dynamics video itself explains, “Although the media, in concert with the American abortion lobby, is portraying this [Gosnell] as an isolated situation … the pro-life movement has been aware of similar stories for years and, today, additional examples are beginning to emerge.”

The video explains the interviews were done May 3.

“Their real names are used in the production, but the identity of the doctor and his facility are being withheld,” the organization reported.

Edge reported, “On many occasions … we would see the fetus breathing, the stomach moving. Then he would snip the spine.”

Another “solution” to a baby who survived was to twist the baby’s head off the neck, she reported.

One baby, before death, opened his hand and grabbed the abortionist’s finger, Edge documented.

“The fetus was still alive. He thought it was dead. The fetus opened his eyes and was able to grab his finger,” she said.

Sometimes babies were born into toilets, and the three women said one case happened that the woman delivered her baby into the toilet at a nearby fast-food restaurant because she was unable to return to the abortion facility quickly enough.

And pain? The women told how when the abortionist would use a “claw” to reach into the womb and dismember or otherwise kill the baby, the baby’s toes would go rigid and spread apart from the pain.

That, the workers explained, was so disturbing to them they had to avert their eyes.

“If they don’t feel … why would those toes spread open?” they asked.

There was, however, no obstacle to abortion at any time, they said.

“As long as the patients had the cash he was going to do it,” they said.

It was NARAL Pro-Choice that said Gosnell will “get what he deserves.”

But the organization said the horrific conditions at his clinic was the fault of pro-lifers who want regulations and restrictions on abortion, and the best solution is to provide more money for abortion so that it is readily accessible to all.

The statement said, “From the lack of funding available for low-income women to access abortion services, to the sharp decline of reputable providers in Pennsylvania, to the gross negligence of authorities to enforce the law after complaints were filed against Gosnell, each aspect of this case must be a teachable moment for lawmakers: until we reject the politicization of women’s medical care and leave these decisions where they belong – between a woman and her family and her doctor – women will never be safe, ” the abortion advocates said.

The jury in Gosnell’s case is meeting for a second time, to determine the penalty.

Jury members rejected the defense arguments that Gosnell was being prosecuted for racist reasons, and witnesses in the courtroom told reporters Gosnell appeared shocked when the guilty verdicts were read. Testimony revealed it has been more than a decade since inspectors had been at the Gosnell abortion business.

Defense attorney Jack McMahon, speaking to reporters after the announcement of the verdict, said Gosnell was “disappointed and upset” at being found guilty.

The case sparked outrage across America when the details became known – how Gosnell would deliver babies, sometimes leaving them on a shelf while they breathed, and even cried out. Then he would cut their spinal columns to cause “fetal demise.”

Even though the charges – and verdicts – related to murder, or the death of a living human being, the New York Times, which had offered only scant coverage of the trial and its horrors, continued to call the murder victims “fetuses.”

The convictions on three counts of first-degree murder, for three infants born alive and then killed, came “after a five-week trial in which the prosecution and the defense battled over whether the fetuses Dr. Gosnell was charged with killing were alive when they were removed from their mothers,” the Times said.

Testimony from multiple workers in the clinic revealed to jurors the babies breathed, reacted to touch and sometimes even cried out before they were killed.

Florida question

WND reported recently when a related subject arose in Florida:

A lobbyist for Planned Parenthood, the largest abortion business in the United States, said a doctor and a mother should be allowed to decide to kill a newborn who survives an abortion.

The Planned Parenthood comments came at a recent Florida legislative hearing from Alisa LaPoit Snow, who was opposing a proposal that would require a doctor to provide care to an infant whom an abortion failed to kill.

Lawmakers were stunned, asking the same question over and over.

“So, it is just really hard for me to even ask you this question because I’m almost in disbelief,” said Rep. Jim Boyd. “If a baby is born on a table as a result of a botched abortion, what would Planned Parenthood want to have happen to that child that is struggling for life?”

Snow’s response?

“We believe that any decision that’s made should be left up to the woman, her family, and the physician.”

In the Florida hearing, the same, or very similar, questions followed several times, as if the lawmakers could not believe the position advocated by Snow.

“You stated that a baby born alive on a table as a result of a botched abortion that that decision should be left to the doctor and the family. Is that what you’re saying?” wondered Rep. Jose Oliva.

Snow didn’t change her response.

“That decision should be between the patient and the health care provider,” she said.

When one lawmaker suggested at that point the “patient” also would include the newborn, Snow responded, “That’s a very good question. … I would be glad to have some more conversations with you about this.”
