"Orphan cures" is another area of abuse in which the FDA allows known cures to languish via its excessive safety and efficacy testing requirements. Cures that do not involve an enforceable patent do not have enough profit potential for any company to spend the required big bucks on FDA testing.
Further, we can be certain that government in general has basic policy disincentives to promote or allow health and life extension. Social security, medicaid, medicare, etc. all benefit from the early and quick death of its citizens! Further, environmentalism which permeates government from top to bottom, far from wanting to promote human longevity and health, ultimately sees humans as a diseas of the earth that must be eliminated or limited!
