With no system available to apply appropriate taxes at time of purchase, we’ll be forced to raise prices by up to 10% in order to cover the various taxes once all records have been reconciled.
2. The Playing Field is Already Level
This legislation will not protect small local businesses. In fact, it will drive locally –owned companies like Swanson who rely on catalogs and the Internet out of business. Large retailers will be the only ones left standing, leaving you with fewer choices and less price competition.
3. Privacy will be threatened
Taxes will be assessed based on the residency of the purchaser rather than the local of the business. This will force companies to retain and stare purchase records with out-of-state government enforcement agencies.
