In the final hours of 2012, the governor of North Carolina pardoned me and the nine other members of the Wilmington Ten, who were wrongfully convicted by a racist prosecutor in 1972 for firebombing a building.

I have been fighting to clear my name for more than 40 years -- and thanks to you and over 142,000 people who signed my petition on Change.org, all of us have finally been declared innocent.

Here's what the governor said when she signed our pardons:

“Justice demands that this stain finally be removed. The process in which this case was tried was fundamentally flawed. Therefore, as Governor, I am issuing these pardons of innocence to right this longstanding wrong.”

My battle for justice wasn't easy -- but by taking a stand against racism and inequality, together we are helping change the world for the better.

Thank you again for your help,

Wayne Moore
