There are now more slaves on the planet than at any time in human history. This conclusion has been made by the United Nations (UN)

According to UN report, today the number of people actually living in the slave position, exceeds the number of "live goods", existed at any other time in human history.

Several million of people become the victims of human trafficking around the world every year. Most often they are forced to become prostitutes, participate in creating products of a sexual content, were forced to difficult and dangerous low-wage labor, begging, or used as donors of human organs and tissues for illegal operations.

 According to statistics of recorded crime, 20 % of the victims are children.

Human trafficking has become one of the most profitable areas of criminal activity. Especially its scope increase during the economic downturns, when demand for cheap products and labor increases

Russia, along with other countries in the post-Soviet space, is recognized as one of the most problematic areas in the world because it is not only a supplier of "live goods" for Europe, but also is the territory where the widely used manpower from Asia, news agencies report.
