On Monday, the Lebanese Army Command said in a statement that two Israeli warplanes flew at low altitude over areas in the north and south of Lebanon as well as areas in the capital, Beirut, dpa reported.

The violations continued throughout the day, it added.

The Army insisted that the violations breached the United Nations Security Council Resolution 1701. The resolution, which brokered a ceasefire in the war Israel launched against Lebanon in 2006, calls on Tel Aviv to respect Lebanon's sovereignty and territorial integrity.

A Press TV correspondent also quoted a Monday statement by the Army as saying that two Israeli aircraft had flown at a medium altitude over Bekaa and Keserwan, respectively in the east of Lebanon and to the northeast of Beirut, since the early hours of the day.

According to evidence submitted to the UN by the Lebanese government, Israel has breached the provisions of the resolution on more than 7,000 occasions by violating Lebanon's airspace, territorial waters and border.
