Jordan’s King Warns About New Israeli-Arab War in Next 12 Months

Jordan’s King Abdullah says if Middle East peace talks are further delayed, there would be a new war between Arabs or Muslims and Israel in the next 12-18 months.
He warned that such a war would have implications far beyond the Middle East, the “Times Online” reported.
The Jordanian monarch noted that the US President Barack Obama’s meeting with the Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu next week has become the acid test for the new US administrations commitment to peace in the Middle East.
The Jordanian king and President Mubarak of Egypt will meet the Israeli leader before his trip to Washington.
“All eyes will be looking to Washington,” he said. “If there are no clear signals and no clear directives to all of us, there will be a feeling that this is just another American Government that is going to let us all down.”
The King travels today to Damascus to discuss Middle East peace process with President Bashar al-Assad.
