Longest War in US History Turns 16 Today – Thousands Dead, No End in Sight & It’s Getting Worse
INTRODUCTION
When Karl Marx made the observation that all wars are economic in their origin, he was - and continues to be- from a rational point of view, completely correct.
The war in Afghanistan was never about the then Afghan government not giving up Osama Bin Laden, the labeled terrorist allegedly ultimately responsible for 9/11.
And please remember: President Bush had business ties to the Bin Laden Family through the scandalous BBCI, in the creation of Arbusto Energy.
President Bush and the bin Laden family have been connected through dubious business deals since 1977, when Salem, the head of the bin Laden family business, one of the biggest construction companies in the world, invested in Bush's start-up oil company, Arbusto Energy, Inc. James R. Bath, a friend and neighbor, was used to funnel money from Osama bin Laden's brother, Salem bin Laden, to set up George W. Bush in the oil business, according to The Wall Street Journal and other reputable sources. Through a tangled web of Saudi multi-millionaires, Texas oilmen, and the infamous Bank of Credit and Commerce International, Bush was financially linked with the bin Laden family until Salem met an untimely end in a freak flying accident near San Antonio in 1988. The infamous BCCI was shut down in 1991 with some $10 billion in losses.
So one has to ask: Did the "freak flying accident" which killed Salem Bin Laden a true "accident", or "wet work" (i.e., an assassination) to get him out of the way because he knew too much about the financial world of the Bush family?!? Understanding, as we now do, that the Occupied, Unhinged, Surveilled States of Amerika collectively use assassinations as a routine tool of statescraft, it certainly is not beyond the realm of possibility.
But getting back to Afghanistan, and the reason the OUSSA is still there; it's about controlling the pipelines; controlling the embarassment of riches in minerals, fattening the bottom line of the military-industrial complex and making absolutely certain that the opium continues to flow, for those OUSSA alphabet-soup agencies' off the shelf operations over which Congress has utterly zero oversight.
These are the reasons that NATO and the US are still occupying Afghanistan; the reasons, most likely, they will never leave Afghanistan, no matter how many of our service members get killed and maimed for life, not to mention the innocent Afghanis who will suffer the same fates.
This war has never been about "protecting America's way of life"; honor; bringing democracy to the Afghani people: it is all about the money, and the corporations who profit from this war, period, end of discussion.
