World leaders have had their say about President Trump in the past. Recently, the French president had harsh words for Trump’s speech at the United Nations. But what does the Afghan president have to say about Trump?

According to Independent Journal Review, the Afghanistan President, Ashraf Ghani, stated Thursday that he thinks very highly of President Trump when compared to previous administrations. He said that there has been “immense change” in his country since Trump said that he was going to send more troops to the war-torn country. “It is a difference of day and night. The cloud of uncertainty has been lifted,” Ghani said. 

It was noted by the Afghani president that he appreciates the American soldiers and their sacrifices. He went on to say that what they are doing is going to lead to a more “stable Afghanistan.”

Ghani continued his humble speech by assuring the American people that there is not going to be any combat role for US soldiers. He believes that America had shown their commitment to the political solution and will have no role in the combat setting.

“You have made that crystal clear, and we are committed to make sure that the Afghan people and the Afghan soldiers and Afghan officers will take the burden of responsibility. The modest additional troops that have been sent are to enhance the assist, support, advice mission, and that is playing a very crucial role,” the Afghanistan President reiterated.

Ghani went on to confirm that they have victory in their sights, on both a political and military scale. He then thanked President Trump for everything he has done to assist them.

He attributed their future successes to Trump sending more American power, and said that it will help “lift Afghanistan out of 40 years of crisis.” The respect and admiration could be felt in his tone of voice.

What shocked many is what Ghani said next. He said that the Afghani people would never ask for a blank check. They are “determined to do what is ours, fight corruption, ensure that there is no waste of resources, full accountability for the results and significant momentum…” This is a far cry from what was heard under President Obama.

He closed his speech by saying “Thank you, Mr. President.” This is a sign that even the people of Afghanistan have more respect for President Trump than Leftists in the United States.

This speech came after President Trump approved 4,000 more troops to go to Afghanistan, according to Breitbart. This would bring the overall number of US troops in the country to around 12,500.

Back in 2010, those numbers were closer to 100,000. It is telling that the president of Afghanistan can be so appreciative over 4,000 additional troops when he was not nearly as receptive to 100,000.

He is not supportive of the number of troops, but, rather, how the troops will be used and under whom the troops are coming. He understands that President Trump has a specific plan to help the Afghan people so that we can get one step closer to bring home all of our troops stationed in Afganistan.
