Three VITAL pro-gun bills.

Should self-defense be a crime?

Should you lose your job for defending your life?

Should the state of South Dakota help the Obama Administration use your private medical records to restrict your gun rights?

Within the next several days, vital legislation dealing with these issues will be up for a vote.

HB 1010 is the Constitutional Carry bill, which says you can’t be charged with a crime simply because you exercised your right to bear arms in self-defense without a government permit.

HB 1129 is the Employee Protection bill, which says you can’t be fired for keeping a firearm locked in your own private vehicle.

HB 1199 keeps South Dakota bureaucrats from giving your private medical records to Obama’s bureaucrats. As you may know, President Obama has announced that he will be data-mining this private information for the purpose of stripping people of their gun rights.

All three of these excellent pro-gun bills have been stalled in committee, but the sponsor has stated his intent to bring them to the House Floor using a procedure named a “smoke-out.”

The deadline is approaching, so the votes will happen soon.

Please contact  State Representatives right away and ask them to support all three bills.

You can call and leave a message for both Representatives at the same time. The number is (605) 773-3851. Your message can be as simple as “Please support HB 1010, HB 1129 and HB 1199.”

P.S. Beause the deadline to bring these bills up for a vote is quickly approaching, I need your help right away.

Three important bills will be voted on soon.

All three of these excellent pro-gun bills have been stalled in committee, but will be brought to a vote in the State House using the colorfully named “smoke-out” procedure.

Please contact these two State Representatives right away and ask them to support all three bills. Their contact info is above, and feel free to use this sample message to help direct your comments.

------------------Sample Message--------------------

Dear Representative,

House Bills 1010, 1129 and 1199 will be “smoked out” soon. I urge you to give all three your FULL support.

HB 1010, the Constitutional Carry bill, removes the penalty for carrying a firearm for self-defense without a government permit.

Currently, a woman who lawfully defends herself with a handgun in her car, but who does not have a pistol permit, faces a year in jail and a $2000 fine. No one should be made a criminal simply for defending themselves.

HB 1129, the Employee Protection bill, would keep employers from penalizing or harassing gun owners who keep a firearm locked in their private vehicles. Some claim that this is a violation of the employer’s private property rights, but this is absurd. What employer can claim ownership of his employee’s private vehicle?

Nobody should be forced to decide between keeping their job and defending their life. HB 1129 recognizes every employee’s right to self-defense while respecting the employer’s property rights.

HB 1199 is primarily designed to combat some of the worst aspects of ObamaCare. It prohibits any state employees from turning over my private medical records to Obama’s federal bureaucracy.

As you may know, President Obama has announced that he will be data-mining this private information for the purpose of stripping people of their gun rights.  HB 1199 will help protect South Dakota from Obama’s oppressive attempts to implement his anti-gun agenda using ObamaCare.

I respectfully urge you to FULLY support HB 1010, HB 1129 and HB 1199.

Sincerely,
