Donald tricks them again – and protects a top constitutional right!
President Trump is great at faking out Democrats and their media.
After the terrible tragedies that occurred over the summer, he said he was “open” to the idea of stronger background checks.
That seemed to open the floodgates of speculation that the president was going to support gun control. Something he’s been strongly opposed to in the past.
The Democrats rushed to push through background checks in September while people were still worked up.
But Trump just dashed the Left’s dreams of taking away Americans’ guns.

While speaking to reporters Sunday morning President Trump said stronger background checks would not have stopped the mass public attacks our nation has witnessed over the past six or seven years.
Trump said, “I will say that for the most part, sadly if you look at the last four or five going back even five or six or seven years, for the most part,as strong as you make your background checks, they would not have stopped any of it.”
What a bummer for Democrats!
President Trump just signaled his stance on more gun control—he made it clear he will not support any laws that strip Americans of their constitutional freedoms.
Democrats think that stronger gun control—partly in the form of background checks—would stop dangerous people from getting their hands on weapons.
But we already have strict background checks in this country. A law-abiding citizen has to go through an FBI background check before they can lawfully buy a gun.
Their Second Amendment rights are already hampered by a screening process that inspects their personal life.
Yet never stopped previous events. It seems like background checks are more about scaring people away from buying guns than keeping us safe.
When Trump initially said he was open to stronger background checks, it was for the safety of the American people.
But what Democrats are proposing clearly aren’t making any of us safe. It goes much further and threatens our right to defend ourselves.
That will only make lawful citizens more at risk from dangerous people. Not safe to me.
