Charles C. W. Cooke of the National Review appeared on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” Friday morning to discuss the 2nd Amendment right that guarantees individuals are allowed to own firearms where he lambasted anti-gun elites, leaving Bloomberg’s Mark Halperin at a loss for words.

On the subject of anti-2nd Amendment individuals, Cooke said:

“The way they talk is as if they have the answer and there are these recalcitrant forces in the country that say ‘no, no, no,’ even though deep down they know their legislation will work. That’s simply not the case. It’s far more complicated than that.”

In response, Halperin was only able to say that there needs to be a “passion to try to come up with solutions.”

After going back and forth with Halperin and cohost Mika Brzezinski, Cooke asked the crucial question:

“What is it you’re proposing?”

The call for new anti-gun laws stems from President Obama’s speech on Thursday in which he demanded that Americans “politicize” the violent tragedy.
