REPORT: OBAMAS BUYING $15 MILLION MARTHA'S VINEYARD MANSION
Cristina Laila
It sure pays to be a DC grifter.
The Obamas are reportedly purchasing a 29-acre, 7,000 square foot $14.85 million mansion in Martha’s Vineyard.
The home is currently owned by Boston Celtics co-owner Wyc Grousbeck.
The Martha’s Vineyard estate (pictured below) was previously listed for $22 million, but the Obamas are paying less than the current listing price according to “multiple island sources.”
TMZ reported:
Multiple island sources tell us the Obamas are in escrow for the estate owned by Boston Celtics owner, Wyc Grousbeck. The former Prez and First Lady have been renting the house this summer and loved it so much, we’ve learned they made an offer. The property is listed at $14,850,000. Our sources say they’re paying less, but we don’t know how much.
The estate — incredible.
It’s 29 beachfront acres. The main residence is just shy of 6,900 square feet. It has 7 bedrooms, so Sasha and Malia have a place to crash, along with several of their friends. It has the obligatory pool, an outdoor fireplace, a chef’s kitchen, vaulted ceilings and 2 guest wings. It has incredible views, especially while soaking in the second-floor balcony Jacuzzi.
Recall, Barack Obama was flat broke before he ran for president.
Obama had no money and his credit card was even declined.
A friend asked Obama to join him at the Democratic National Convention in Los Angeles, saying it might cheer him up to be surrounded by like minded and energetic politicos.
Upon arriving in California and attempting to rent a car, his credit card was declined.
Fast forward to his life post-presidency after an 8-year crime spree in the White House and he’s living the lifestyle of a billionaire jet-setter.
Between ‘speaking fees,’ book deals, a deal with Netflix and other unknown behind-the-scenes deals, the Obamas are reportedly worth over 30 times more than when they entered the White House in 2008 — in less than three years after their exit.
Obamas placed an offer on 'mega-expensive' estate in Martha's Vineyard: report

Former President Barack Obama and his wife, Michelle, reportedly made an offer on a 29-acre estate in Martha's Vineyard after renting it from Boston Celtics owner Wyc Grousbeck over the summer.
According to TMZ, the "mega-expensive" estate sits on the beach, has two guest wings, seven guest rooms, and 6,900 square feet. Although the property is listed at $14,850,000, sources told TMZ the Obamas were paying "less."
The Obamas previously purchased a nine-bedroom house Washington, D.C. That 2017 purchase cost them $8.1 million.
While the pair is currently in escrow, the deal could fall apart due to unspecified "contingencies," according to the outlet.
The news came as the former first family seemed poised to continue raking in millions from a variety of other opportunities.
The former president, who had a net worth of about $40 million in 2018, teamed up with his wife to create a documentary that's been labeled their "first big anti-Trump statement of 2020."
The documentary focuses on a Chinese billionaire who opens a factory "in the husk" of an abandoned General Motors plant, hiring 2,000 blue-collar Americans.
Michelle Obama already received a $65 million book advance for her memoir, "Becoming," while the pair also scored a $50 million deal with Netflix.
According to the New York Post, Michelle Obama commands $225,000 in speaking fees and, with her husband, could now be worth as much as $135 million.
While the former president has stayed relatively quiet amid attacks from President Trump, he's occasionally spoken out on events like the mass shootings in both El Paso and Dayton.
Obama has notably refrained from wading into 2020 presidential politics and refused to endorse his former vice president, Joe Biden, for the Democratic Party's nomination.
In August, a report surfaced that the former president told Biden in early 2019 that he didn't have to run for president.
Obama reportedly pushed back on a 2016 run for Biden because, in part, he thought former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton would be more effective in continuing his legacy.

CBS’s King: Obama’s Netflix Deal Celebrates the 'Triumph of the Human Spirit'
This article was sourced from NewsBusters
Democratic donor and CBS host Gayle King on Wednesday gushed over the new production company started by Barack and Michelle Obama.Talking about their company Higher Ground and its new Netflix movie American Factory.
Speaking as though she was blurbing a movie poster, King cheered, “They don't call their company Higher Ground for nothing.
They want to do something that celebrates our core values as a country, and certainly celebrates the triumph and the human spirit. I can’t wait to see it.” It always needs to be pointed out, King has vacationed with the Obamas, so she’s not exactly neutral on the two Democrats.
Co-host Tony Dokoupil also promoted the production company and the new documentary: “And helps people get outside themselves. I love that. And if people want to check it out, American Factory is streaming now on Netflix.”
Writing about American Factory, Politico’s Ted Johnson explained:
The documentary, which debuts on Netflix on August 21, never mentions President Donald Trump by name—but its message is clear: Trump’s promise to reinvigorate the industrial heartland is going to take a lot more than a campaign slogan.
There are no easy solutions. And if some manufacturing jobs do come back, they’re going to look nothing like they used to. Americans will have to accept a new reality to stay competitive in the global marketplace—one that they might not like, and one that Trump doesn’t acknowledge.
A transcript of the segment is below:
CBS This Morning 8/21/19 8:23
ANTHONY MASON: Overnight, former President Barack Obama and former First Lady Michelle Obama released their first documentary on Netflix.
American Factory is the first film from the Obamas' production company Higher Ground. It takes viewers inside a Chinese glass company's new factory in Dayton, Ohio, where Chinese and American employees work side-by-side. In this clip, the Obamas talk to the American Factory’s award-winning filmmakers Julia Reichert and Steven Bognar about why they connected with the story.
MICHELLE OBAMA: Those first scenes of the folks on the floor in their uniforms. That was my background. That was my father. That was reflected in this film.
BARACK OBAMA: Yeah.
We all have a sacred story in us, a story that gives us meaning and purpose and how we organize our lives. If you know someone, if you talk to them face-to-face, you can forge a connection, you may not agree with them on everything. But there's common ground and you can move forward together.
MICHELLE OBAMA: And Higher Ground is a reflection of both of us. Our platform is going to look a little bit like everything.
BARACK OBAMA: We want people to be able to get outside of themselves.
MICHELLE OBAMA: Yeah.
BARACK OBAMA: And experience and understand the lives of somebody else, which is what a good story does. It helps all of us feel some sort of solidarity with each other.
ANTHONY MASON: The former First Lady also said she chose the film because the filmmakers let people tell their own stories.
KING: Well, they don't call their company Higher Ground for nothing. They want to do something that celebrates our core values as a country, and certainly celebrates the triumph and the human spirit. I can’t wait to see it.
TONY DOKOUPIL: And helps people get outside themselves. I love that. And if people want to check it out, American Factory is streaming now on Netflix.
Obama’s Harvard Professor: Trump Is a ‘F*****g Racist’; Wants to ‘Reverse Outcome of the Civil War’
This article was sourced from InfoWars
Long time anti-Trump professor Laurence Tribe called the President a “fucking racist” Wednesday, and declared that Trump wants to “reverse the outcome of the Civil War.”
Tribe linked to a Daily Kos hit piece, which declared that Trump was racist for suggesting he is looking into ending US birthright citizenship, meaning that babies born in the country wouldn’t automatically become US citizens.
“Over half a million lives were lost in that sacred cause.” Tribe tweeted, referring to the Civil War.
“If you agree we can’t let this lunatic get away with that, SAY SO!!! If you’re silent, you’re complicit.” the Constitutional Law professor also stated.
Tribe is a fervent anti-Trumper. He eventeaches a class at Harvarddedicated to the “impeachment and removal by other means” of President Trump.
Tribe, who was Barack Obama’s law professor, has repeatedly called for Trump to be impeached, has labeled the President ‘dangerous’, and even charged that Trump could fabricate ‘another national emergency’ specifically with the goal of staying in power in 2020.
