The House Intelligence Committee’s is now investigating the allegations that the Obama administration unmasked the names of Trump officials caught up in surveillance and illegally leaked their names to the press.

Former National Security Advisor Susan Rice is at the heart of this controversy.

And Trey Gowdy has a plan to catch her in lies that could send her to prison.

Fox News reports both the House and Senate are expanding their probes to see if Trump officials caught up in the surveillance were improperly unmasked:

“The House and Senate intelligence committees are expanding their investigation into the so-called “unmasking” controversy, Fox News has learned, to examine whether other candidates or lawmakers beyond President Trump’s associates were affected.

Until now, the investigation focused on how the identities and communications of Trump transition members were collected by U.S. intelligence agencies and then revealed to, and disseminated among, high-ranking members of the Obama administration.

House Intelligence Committee Chairman Devin Nunes, R-Calif., now plans to audit files from the National Security Agency and White House to determine whether identities and conversations of presidential candidates — or members of Congress — also were swept up during NSA surveillance of foreign leaders. He also plans to review whether Obama’s National Security Council and White House counsel collected and distributed the intelligence for reasons unrelated to foreign intelligence.”

This is a big problem for Susan Rice.

It was reported she was the high ranking Obama official who requested the names of Trump officials to be unmasked.

Americans’ names caught up in FISA ordered surveillance are concealed because that kind of spying is only supposed to target foreigners.

Rice will surely be asked to testify before the House Intelligence Committee to explain her actions, and that’s where Trey Gowdy comes in.

As one of her questioners, Gowdy has the ability to lay a trap for Rice to perjure herself.

Western Journalism reports:

“Fox News contributor Judge Andrew Napolitano predicted Tuesday that if former national security adviser Susan Rice is called to testify in front of the House Intelligence Committee over her unmasking of key figures in President Donald Trump’s campaign team, chairman Rep. Trey Gowdy, R-S.C, would likely “trap” her into misleading Congress,

“Simply stated, her credibility is shot before she even takes the oath and says a word,” Napolitano said, adding Rice has proven herself to be a “public liar.”

The judge believes Rice has built such a complex mountain of lies it would be easy to trick her into slipping and saying something that doesn’t fit with the narratives she has concocted.”

Judge Napolitano noted that Rice has a history of lying.

She lied about not knowing about the surveillance that caught up members of the Trump campaign in a PBS interview.

And she famously lied on five Sunday shows about the Benghazi terrorist attacks being caused by a YouTube video.

Gowdy is a former prosecutor and the most ferocious questioner on the committee.

Given Rice’s track record for lying, there is a good chance Gowdy could trap her into making false statements.
