TYRANNY OR STUPIDITY?

The total irrationality of the new gun control movement

You never want a serious crisis to go to waste. And what I mean by that – it's an opportunity to do things you think you could not do before."Rahm Emanuel

Throughout his entire first term, America never heard a peep out of Barack Obama about gun control – except in 2008 when he said on national TV, "I believe in the Second Amendment. I believe in people's lawful right to bear arms. I will not take your shotgun away. I will not take your rifle away. I won't take your handgun away."

But then in December 2012 came the horrendous mass-shooting in Connecticut and suddenly banning entire classes of firearms rarely used in crime – rifles – became the nation's most urgent priority.

Until Sandy Hook, the constitutional right to keep and bear arms was just about the only policy battlefield on which the left consistently lost. In fact, two recent Supreme Court decisions – 2008's District of Columbia v. Heller and 2010's McDonald v. Chicago – strongly reaffirmed individuals' Second Amendment right to own firearms for their own protection.

But Obama, not wanting "a serious crisis to go to waste," wasted no time. Starting the very day of the Connecticut tragedy and continuing ever since, he has skillfully redirected Americans' wrenching emotional pain into a massive, coordinated push for new gun-control measures – with or without Congress.

So now America is being dragged through yet another pretend crisis – a crisis of "assault weapons" (a pretend term deliberately designed to scare and deceive people about ordinary firearms), a crisis of too many guns "on the streets" (no one knows quite what that means), a crisis of "high-powered, semi-automatic rifles" (but wait, gun-controllers used to always insist handguns were the problem),  a crisis of needing to establish more "gun-free zones" (which are pretend, and serve only to attract would-be mass murderers).

The fact that virtually all serious research conducted over the last 40 years proves "more guns" always equals "less crime," and that gun-control laws have been proven time and time again not to reduce crime, is of absolutely no consequence. The crisis is all that matters – and the "opportunity to do things" that couldn't have been done before.

The eye-opening reality of all this is dramatically revealed in the February issue of WND's monthly Whistleblower magazine, titled "TYRANNY OR STUPIDITY?: The total irrationality of the new gun control movement."

Highlights of "TYRANNY OR STUPIDITY?" include:

•  "The new gun controllers" by David Kupelian, on why the left is obsessed with eliminating Americans' most fundamental right

  •

    •  "Ex-NYC mayor: Ban all guns" – yes, Ed Koch really did say, "I don't believe that in our society we should have guns"

    •  "How to stop the slaughter of innocents" by Joseph Farah, providing unforgettable examples of what happens when bad people with guns encounter good people with guns

    •  "Everyday heroes" – all but ignored by the media, here are dozens of true stories of armed citizens stopping predators, murderers and psychopaths

    •  "Do gun control laws control guns?" by Thomas Sowell, in which the venerated economist – who once taught handgun shooting in the Marines – says, "Anyone who faces three home invaders might find 30 bullets barely adequate"

    •  "No such thing as ‘assault weapons'" by Jeff Knox, who shows how one top gun-controller admits to purposely confusing people into mistaking semi-autos for machineguns

    •  "Obama's bogus claim that ‘40% of gun purchases' evade background check" – it's not even close

    •  "Reducing violent crime in the U.S." by Chuck Norris, in which the world's toughest person shows that rather than pass dangerous and stupid new gun laws, there are real strategies that can keep Americans safer – and freer

    •  "No ma'am": U.S. Marine Joshua Boston's letter to Sen. Dianne Feinstein about who's the boss and who's the servant in America

    •  "New Jersey mayor offers $1,000 reward for help getting guns ‘off the streets'"

    •  "2 cautionary tales of gun control" by Joyce Lee Malcolm, who documents how, after a school massacre, the U.K. banned handguns in 1998. A decade later, handgun crime had doubled

    •  "Dire warning from Europe" by Derek Bernard, who provides an in-depth look at how UK gun-control efforts have totally backfired

    •  "Why people hate and fear guns" by David Kupelian, an eye-opening and slightly scary look inside the minds of those who loathe firearms

    •  "Women in India turn to guns after brutal gang-rape"

    •  "Homeland Security hoarding ammo, depriving police" by Aaron Klein, on how police today are scrambling for ammunition while the federal Department of Homeland Security is stockpiling massive quantities – mostly hollow-point. So, what kinds of problems are they anticipating in the homeland?

    •  "We'll 'pry guns' from your ‘cold, dead hands'" by Drew Zahn, profiling one of those peaceful, gun-hating leftist columnists who proposes killing NRA members and dragging Republicans behind pickups until they embrace non-violence

    •  "Blacks should embrace the NRA's proposal" by Star Parker, who observes: "What is the essence of freedom? Property and a gun"

    •  "Teachers on reading, writing & packing heat" by Jack Minor, on states leading the charge to enable educators to carry concealed weapons to school

    •  "A 'vaccine' that prevents gun violence?" by Lee Hieb, M.D., in which the orthopedic surgeon and medical pundit reveals how concealed-carry laws boost a population's "herd immunity" to crime

    •  "The real problem" by Walter Williams, who spotlights the underlying cause of America's coarsening and ever-more-violent culture: "For a half-century, liberals and progressives have waged war on traditions, customs and moral values"

    •  "America's coming gun war" by Patrick J. Buchanan, who notes, "Today, we are a far more heavily armed people than half a century ago," and describes the battle shaping up.

      •  "Time for 'hammer control'?" Yes, the FBI says more murders are committed with hammers and similar "blunt objects" than guns

"How bizarre and surreal," says Whistleblower Editor David Kupelian, "that this latest gun ‘crisis' is the creation of the administration behind the most outrageous gunrunning scandal in modern history, ‘Fast and Furious,' which provided murderous Mexican drug lords and crime kingpins with thousands of the same types of firearms Obama now wants to deny to responsible, law-abiding Americans."

"This issue of Whistleblower," he adds, "like nothing else I've seen, gets right to the heart of the matter and reveals precisely what is happening to America right now. Even more important, it shows how Americans can and must preserve, protect and defend their Second Amendment rights – the key to all other rights."

SPECIAL OFFER: For a limited time, subscribe to Whistleblower, renew your subscription or give a gift subscription for one year and you'll get $10 off (pay $39.95 instead of the usual $49.95), plus you'll receive two free gifts:

First, you'll get the book Glenn Beck insists is the very first book Americans should read if they want to restore their nation to greatness – "The 5,000 Year Leap" by W. Cleon Skousen. "Over my book or anything else, get ‘The 5000 Year Leap,'" said Beck. "It's the book Ronald Reagan wanted taught in high schools, and Ted Kennedy stopped it from happening. That should tell you all you need to know. When you read these principles, your mouth will fall open. The scales will fall off your eyes … It will help you understand American free enterprise. You'll be able to defend it. You'll be able to know what makes it possible for 6 percent of humanity living under our free economy to produce one-half of the Earth's developed wealth every single year."

As "The 5,000 Year Leap" proves, it was because of the free-enterprise system that America produced such astounding inventions and ideas, from jet propulsion to the doubling of life expectancy. The author explains in crystal clear, concise terms all that came together to create a nation that literally accomplished a 5,000-year leap in progress. Skousen covers in detail what went into the design of the U.S. Constitution, highlighting the original sources for the principles that inspired the United States, and showing how the Founders developed these principles from the studies of Cicero, Locke, Montesquieu and Adam Smith.

Within this narrative of success, Skousen weaves the story of America as a Christian nation, guided by divine providence and created for the liberty and rights of mankind. "The 5000 Year Leap" gives the reader a greater understanding of the origins of the United States of America, the consequences of deviating from the principles on which it was founded and all the characteristics that made this nation the greatest in history. (A $19.95 value – FREE!)

Second, you'll also receive Whistleblower's special issue titled "THE ALINSKY CODE: How America is confused, intimidated and dominated by the left's secret language."

Millions of Americans feel they're living in a war zone, the bombardments coming their way daily. Nonstop lies and corruption. White House "czars" with communist backgrounds. Brazen presidential power grabs. Bows to enemy leaders and insults to allies. Intentionally destructive economic and energy policies. Presidential hot-mic gaffes proving collusion with America's enemies.

No wonder Americans are more worried today about the very survival of their nation than at any time since the Civil War.

But underlying the madness – underlying all of the epic, high-level subversion of America – enabling it, justifying it, disguising it – is a secret language of the left, a language most citizens neither understand nor even recognize.

This secret language, an essential ingredient in America's rapidly advancing socialist transformation, is dramatically exposed in this groundbreaking special issue of Whistleblower magazine, titled "THE ALINSKY CODE."

Without this secret language, the "matrix" of deceit and delusion enveloping modern America would soon disappear – just as in the sci-fi film blockbuster "The Matrix" – and citizens would behold Barack Obama and his administration for exactly what they really are: committed revolutionaries of the radical left.

EVEN BETTER OFFER: Subscribe, renew or give a gift subscription for two years and you'll not only get "The 5,000 Year Leap" and "THE ALINSKY CODE," but you'll also get a $10 discount on the already reduced two-year rate ($74.95 instead of the usual $84.95).

These special free offers will end without notice and are good in the U.S. only.
