an a week's time, we had rallied more than 125,000 citizen signers whose petitions were on hand during the SPP summit protest in Canada!

At one point more than 3,700 citizens were signing every hour!

Grassfire's concern over this issue really began after reading a joint statement following the first summit meeting between George Bush and Mexican President Vincente Fox on February 16, 2001. From that meeting they announced a goal of a "Partnership for Prosperity." Their statement: "After consultation with our Canadian partners, we will strive to consolidate a North American economic community."

This is the true intent of the SPP and the "North American Framework." This is the reason we are concerned.
