President Trump announced that 240 miles of new border wall has been built.

He tweeted, “We have now built 240 Miles of new Border Wall on our Southern Border. We will have over 450 Miles built by the end of the year. Have established some of the best Border Numbers ever. The Radical Left Democrats want Open Borders for anyone, including many criminals, to come in!”

 

President Trump also pointed out part of the border wall was built by a private organization that he disagreed with.

Three miles of the wall were built privately along the banks of the Rio Grande earlier in 2020 which is suffering from erosion and is being expected by experts after aa federal court hearing last week.

Trump said it was done to make him look bad:

“I disagreed with doing this very small (tiny) section of wall, in a tricky area, by a private group which raised money by ads. It was only done to make me look bad, and perhsps it now doesn’t even work. Should have been built like rest of Wall, 500 plus miles.”

 

According to the Associated Press, the company which build the wall was Fisher Industries. It’s unclear how much it cost to build since it was privately-funded and built, but the company also won a $1.3 billion contract to build another section of the border wall.
