Estimated 96 Percent Of Border Surge Illegals Remain In U.S.

An estimated 96 percent of the Central Americans apprehended illegally entering the U.S. since last summer remain in the U.S., according to data from the Justice Department’s Executive Office of Immigration Review.

The data shows that more than 77,000 illegal immigrant adults and minors were apprehended and served Notices to Appear between July 18, 2014 and May 26, 2015. Just over 3,000 appeared before a judge and were ordered removed.

Nearly 96 percent of cases either received judicial or administrative amnesty, were ordered removed “in absentia” (where in they did not appear for the proceedings), or the case has not been decided yet. About 900 were listed as voluntary departures, the status of their departures is, however, unclear.

Saying goodbye: Remembering the legacy of Bob Barry Jr.

Our hearts are broken as we mourn the loss of a beloved friend, sports icon and family member.

On June 20, Bob Barry, Jr. was killed in a car accident in northwest Oklahoma City.

While many people remember Bobby for the legacy he left behind on the sports world, we remember him as a dear friend and a member of our KFOR family.

Bobby always knew he wanted to be a sports broadcaster and follow in the footsteps of his father, Bob Barry Sr.

He started his radio career as a sophomore at Norman High School, but had no idea he would continue down that path for another 40 years.

After graduating from Norman High School, Bobby decided to stay in town and attended the University of Oklahoma.

In 1980, he graduated from OU with a bachelor’s degree in radio/ television/ film journalism.

After leaving OU, Bobby became the sports director for KAUT in Oklahoma City.

Just two years later, he followed in his father’s footsteps and joined KFOR as a weekend sports anchor in 1982.
