Despite agreeing to release newly certified for release Russia probe transcripts Adam Schiff is in "panic mode" because reports indicate that they prove that officials came up empty while Schiff continued to promise "direct evidence" of collusion.

According to Fox News:

EXCLUSIVE: Transcripts of House Intelligence Committee interviews that have been cleared for release show top law enforcement and intelligence officials affirming they had no evidence of collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia during the 2016 election, senior administration and intelligence community officials told Fox News on Wednesday.

This would align with the results of former Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation — which found no evidence of illegal or criminal coordination between President Trump, the Trump campaign and Russia in 2016 — but the numerous transcribed interviews could raise further questions about committee Chairman Adam Schiff’s past statements saying that there was “direct evidence” of collusion.

“Schiff is in panic mode,” a senior administration official told Fox News.

Earlier this week, House Republicans sought over 6,000 pages of transcripts pertaining to interviews conducted by the committee in 2017 and 2018, after the panel in September 2018 voted on a bipartisan basis to approve their public release.

The next day Acting Director of National Intelligence informed Schiff that the redaction and declassification process was complete and the docs were authorized to be released. Grenell also gave Schiff an ultimatum by threatening to release them if he didn't. [RELATED: Acting DNI Grenell Tells Schiff to Release the Transcripts or He Will]

The ultimatum worked as The Daily Caller reports Schiff has caved to pressure and will release them:

Rep. Adam Schiff said Wednesday he will soon release dozens of transcripts from the House Intelligence Committee’s Russia investigation, ending a lengthy partisan standoff over publication of the documents.

A spokesman for Schiff made the announcement after the release of a letter from Richard Grenell in which the acting director of national intelligence said he would publish the 53 transcripts on his own if the California Democrat refused to do so.

On Tuesday, Republicans on the House Judiciary and House Oversight committees accused Schiff of “blocking” the release of the transcripts.

Schiff caves! But we’ll believe it when we see it. https://twitter.com/kyledcheney/status/1258078298124554241

"After more than a year of unnecessary delay, the ODNI has finally concluded its protracted classification review of the Committee’s transcripts."

One transcript to be released is from an interview with Michael Gaeta, an FBI agent who was Steele’s handler. The committee will also release transcripts of interviews with David Kramer, a former aide to Sen. John McCain who leaked the Steele dossier to BuzzFeed News.

Schiff will likely try to spin this as a political hit job from Grenell, but Fox News was told that the redactions were conducted before Grenell took the helm by former DNIs Dan Coates and Joseph Maguire.
