White House Deputy Counsel Mike Purpura, who is on the legal team that is defending Trump in the Senate, came out with a strong defense of the President on Saturday. Purpura pointed out 6 key facts that according to him “Have not and will not change”. His passionate statement will do little to sway the Democrats who have become blinded by their hatred of the President, but his words may help clarify the situation for those who are unsure of what is going on in the Senate.

The transcripts of the call between President Trump and President Zelensky have shown that President Trump did not use military aid as leverage to get an investigation into the Biden family and the corruption that is suspected to have occurred while Joe Biden was Vice President. In fact, the transcripts between the two show that there was no attempt to condition the military aid what-so-ever.

2.) Testimony of Ukranian Officials

Ukranian officials sided with the President and stated that they felt no pressure to investigate the Bidens on allegations of corruption. They also further stated that there was no quid pro quo. Considering that the focal point of the Democrat's arguments in the Senate has been the allegation of the quid pro quo their case is pretty much done with this fact alone.

President Zelensky and other Ukranian officials were not even aware that the aid was being withheld. Thinking about this logically it is hard to use the aid as leverage if one party is unaware of the fact that it is being withheld. This fact makes the Democrat's argument seem totally illogical.

4.) Even Dem Witness Don’t Agree With Dem Claims

Another point made by Purpura was that even the witnesses the Democrats are hedging their bets on have testified that the aid was not tied to any investigation into the Bidens. This is a great point, even the witness the Democrats are pushing can’t verify their claims.

5.) The Aid Was Ultimately Given With No Condition

At the end of the day, the aid was given to Ukraine and President Trump receives no special benefits in return for handing the aid over. Even if the Democrats could read Trump’s mind and he was thinking about doing this he didn't actually do anything. This isn’t 1984, there is no such thing as wrong think and thought crimes aren't real.

Trump has been a strong ally to Ukraine, they have had a fair relationship and it just isn’t in Trump’s character to do something so vile. His history of helping this nation in our partnership is evidence enough that claims coming from Democrats are totally bogus.
