Ilhan Omar

Minnesota Congresswoman Ilhan Omar is in the biggest trouble of her life.

And she can’t count on Nancy Pelosi or any of her allies to bail her out.

That’s because Omar is facing an investigation into this crime that could be the final nail in her career’s coffin.

The Minnesota Campaign Finance Board is investigating Omar for allegedly using campaign funds for personal use.

The board received two complaints alleging Omar had spent $6,000 of her campaign money on a divorce attorney and for travel to Boston and Estonia.

Minnesota GOP State Rep. Steve Drazkowski filed the complaints and explained to ABC affiliate WJLA why he proceeded with this course of action.

“I had observed a long pattern,” Drazkowski explained. “Representative Omar hasn’t followed the law. She’s repeatedly trampled on the laws of the state in a variety of areas, and gotten by with it.”

WJLA tried to reach Omar for comment, but they reported that, “…Omar refused to answer any questions about the campaign finance allegations. The aide suggested Sinclair try to schedule an interview instead. When Sinclair contacted Omar spokesman Jeremy Slevin for that purpose, he directed that the inquiry be routed to his personal email account; an inquiry subsequently sent to that account produced no reply from Slevin.”

Omar was asked about these allegations in October during a debate with Drazkowski.

The moderator asked her on multiple occasions if she knew anything about the alleged violation.

But Omar’s answer did not reassure anyone that she was not involved in campaign finance violations.

“If there was, um — [pauses] — an, an improper action, I would not have used it,” Omar mumbled.

Omar’s mounting legal and political woes leave her future in doubt.

She represents a deep blue district which she won with around 80 percent of the vote.

So there is no danger of a Republican taking the seat.

But will the Democrats recruit a primary challenger who will toe the radical left line without generating all the negative headlines?

That is a distinct possibility.

But – ironically – it’s not one many Republicans would welcome for political reasons.

Yes, Ilhan routinely expresses bigotry that is unbecoming of an elected official.

However, Democrats ousting Omar in a primary would deprive the GOP of the livewire member of Congress who is giving the Democrat Party a black eye because of her extreme anti-Semitism.

Omar’s antics actually divide the Democrats—which is working in the Republicans favor.

She recently almost caused an intra-party civil war over comments she made claiming Jewish Americans were more loyal to Israel than the United States.

Their base stands in solidarity with these anti-Semitic views and socialist policies.

But the party’s leadership knows if Donald Trump can brand the Democrats as the party of open borders, infanticide, and anti-Semitism, they are doomed in 2020.
