Nancy Pelosi was keeping a secret.

It was one of the most explosive surprises of the 2016 election.

And she never thought she would have to admit it to the American people.

Pelosi admitted to reporters that she would have retired if Hillary Clinton had won the election.

This was a closely guarded secret that not even a hint of leaked out during the campaign.

“House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) said Friday that she would have retired if former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton had defeated President Donald Trump in the November election.

According to CNN, Pelosi told reporters after her interview Friday at The Monitor Breakfast — hosted by The Christian Science Monitor — that “if Hillary had won, I was ready to go home.”

“It was really shocking that someone like Donald Trump would be president of the United States. We yearn for the day of a Mitt Romney or a George Bush or someone,” Pelosi said. “But anyway, that motivated me to stay now.”

Pelosi also admitted she was sticking around to protect Obamacare.

That was her signature achievement as Speaker of the House.

She rammed Obamacare through Congress despite the American people opposing her government run healthcare scheme.

But her victory came at a price.

Americans were disgusted with Obamacare.

It eliminated choices and imposed costly mandates on health care.

Obama also sold the bill by lying to the American people.

He falsely claimed that if you liked your doctor you could keep your doctor.

Millions of Americans found out this was not true when they lost their health insurance because their plan did not comply with Obama’s government controls.

In response, Americans fired the Democrats from power.

They lost control of the House in 2010.

Republicans regained the majority in the Senate in 2014.

And Donald Trump defeated Hillary Clinton to give the GOP unified control of government in the 2016 election.

Obamacare was one of the deciding factors in the 2010 and 2014 midterms.

And Donald Trump’s pledge to repeal and replace Barack Obama’s crown jewel of socialism was key to closing the deal and allowing Republicans to come home in the final weeks of the campaign.

Pelosi’s big decision to ram through Obamacare kicked off the Democrats electoral losing streak.

And it prevented Hillary Clinton from winning the 2016 election and forced Pelosi to go back on her initial instincts to retire.

Now she is compounding her error by fighting to maintain Obamacare.

The law is in a death spiral and fighting repealing Obamacare will be just as big a political loser in 2018 as it was in 2010, 2014 and 2016.
