Michigan Governor calls Henry Ford un-American.
Dustin Anderson
Michigan governor Jennifer Granholm’s statement on the radio this morning regarding the rejection of the auto industry ‘rescue’ (read:bailout) bill failure in the Senate:
It is unacceptable for this un-American, frankly, behavior of these U.S. senators to cause this country to go from a recession into a depression.
And Henry Ford’s position on government bailouts February 11, 1934:
Let them fail; let everybody fail! I made my fortune when I had nothing to start with, by myself and my own ideas. Let other people do the same thing. If I lose everything in the collapse of our financial structure, I will start in at the beginning and build it up again.
Of course, Henry Ford exemplified American ingenuity and innovation. It’s a slap in his face to say that the opposition position to government bailouts is un-American, and frankly quite ridiculous.
