Because of your grassroots efforts, the debate on the oil drilling ban in Congress is about to explode.
Harry Reid and the obstructionist Democrats are feeling the heat from you and now both sides are discussing a possible vote to lift the ban on offshore drilling before the summer recess this Friday.
And House Republicans are vowing to stay in session until they get a vote to lift the drilling ban -- precisely what Grassfire's petition is calling for!

on the Outer Continental Shelf BEFORE Congress takes its month-
long summer holiday.

#3 -- I also want Congress to remove barriers to oil shale development
in the Rockies and clear the way for increasing our nuclear
electric energy capacity.

Just a comment on the article, Drilling Ban Debate About To Explode. The group advocating drilling offshore could not possibly understand the real cause of high gas prices, however they aren\'t the only ones duped. The cause is massive speculation on the oil market. Not any shortages of oil. I will not go into \"peak oil\" false flag at this time but when the Arab nations with oil tell us over and again that they have no increase in demand for oil...no increase in orders for oil, this does raise a red flag to beware about what we are being fed here at home.
When oil companies shut down working refineries and blame tree huggers and when they ask and are granted new lands for oil drilling from congress....yet they do not drill, this should raise a red flag. It should raise a red flag when the oil companies get huge amounts of loans from banks which have been bailed out, and then put that money on investing in their own oil market! In short, the Federal Reserve funded the oil co\'s investments in their own oil market, which drove oil prices up artificially. Other money houses such as Goldman Sachs got in on the act and speculated in oil...driving oil prices up. Not to mention all the wealthy jumping in on the fray. THIS is why you get cleaned out at the pumps....not lack of drilling places. They created an oil bubble which is similar to the housing bubble, which drove prices of homes up artificially. It\'s the same deal.....right now the dollar is floating along on the oil bubble. It is another scam on American people. The next!
plan is to do this same scam with FOOD!
As a Great Lakes resident, we fought George W. Bush from drilling in the Great Lakes. This is our drinking water for many states!!!! People need to research and discover what is behind all the high oil prices! It is SPECULATION. It is very difficult to convince people of this because they are so used to the bought out media telling them we have to keep drilling for more oil. This is not true. We get most our oil from Canada and only about a third from the mid east...who are telling us there is no increase in demand! We are being duped about this oil situation as we are lied to and duped over everything. Lies have gotten us into invading countries for oil, and into sending military into oil countries like Africa under guise of \"helping\" them. Believe me, when military is sent into these countries, THE OIL COMPANIES IMMEDIATELY FOLLOW!! Oil co\'s use our military and us to strip countries of their oil resources and we pay dearly for it.
