John I was very concerned as these people's word can not be trusted.

I half expected that you would let them into your house and that they subsequently would try to grab some possession to square up the $ 128 (or whatever) costs you were told you had to pay.

I could just imagine that you would resist any attempt to grab something and in the process you may have been either hurt and finished up in hospital or have been arrested.
