Illinois Attorney General has called for the removal from office, based on the belief that he is unable to function as governor. She has appealed for the Illinois Supreme court to place the Lt. Governor in Blagojevich's place. She says that currently, the state is paralyzed.

This move is in addition to efforts by the legislature to pursue impeachment.

The AG has given as an example the need for short term borrowing to keep the state's credit current.  The AG must certify and sign a statement that the governor is basically, not in trouble or under litigation. She says she can't sign it.
