Folks:

I have had several conversations lately with people in my area of Oklahoma concerning the "concealed carry license", and whether or not they should apply for the license.  I have looked into it, for answers that I personally had about it.  Here is what I determined:

(1)  You don't need to worry about "registering" your firearm, as there is no provision in the Act which authorizes such a "problem".  You will need
to supply 2 current "passport style" color photographs of yourself.  And, you will need to have fingerprints made of all of your fingers.  Your
license application will need to be scrutinized and approved by not only your local community police chief, but also the county Sheriff, and State
FBI and Homeland Defense Agencies.  The license will cost you $ 100 payable to the OSBI, along with an Instructor Application Fee of $ 100.
You will be charged $ 25 for the fingerprints.  The License will have a term of 5 years before it must be renewed.  No personal or business
checks will be accepted.  You must be at least 21 years of age to qualify, with no convictions or mental health problems in your record.
(2)  If you get the license, if you are ever stopped by a police officer for any reason, you will need to show him not only your drivers license but also
your concealed carry license.  He "may" ask you to give him the gun (or secure it) while he talks to you.  He will not be allowed to inspect
any weapon properly concealed without probable cause that a crime has been committed.  You will not be allowed to point any pistol at any
person, whether loaded or not, except for an act of self-defense.
(3)  You will be allowed to carry a "loaded gun" either on your person or in your vehicle.  There will, of course, be some places where you will NOT
be allowed to carry your firearm, such as schools, government office buildings, any sports arena, or place specifically prohibited by law, etc.
(4)  When you take the test, you will be told to bring a "semi-automatic hand gun" for your proficiency firing test.  This will qualify you to use either
a semi-automatic pistol, a revolver, or a "derringer".  Your semi-automatic pistol will need to be no larger than a  45 caliber semi-automatic. For
the test, you should bring about 50 rounds of ammunition for your gun, and, ear and eye protective gear.  You should also wear a "baseball type
cap with bill".  Be sure to bring notebook paper and pencil along with you, so that you can use them to take notes during the classroom portion.
(5)  The "target" for your qualifying firing test will be only about 10' away, so, you should have no trouble hitting the target.

The State of Oklahoma recognizes any valid concealed carry weapons permit or license issued by another state; HOWEVER,  be advised, that only the 31 states shown in the above attachment will honor your Oklahoma Concealed Carry License.
