Kurt Russell Says ‘I Have guns’ and ‘now is not a Good Time to lay Them Down’

Kurt Russell
Hollywood actor Kurt Russell has been working liberals across the country into a mouth-foaming frenzy with his consistent pro-gun comments in interviews, which I won’t lie, brings a big grin to my face.
Just call me the cheshire cat.
Anyway, during an interview with the Daily Mail, Russell once again affirmed he was a proud gun owner and that he believed now is a bad time to put guns aside.
From Daily Mail:
Sure I believe in the right to bear arms, as guaranteed under the Second Amendment of the American constitution,’ explains 64-year-old Kurt Russell, Hollywood A-lister and long-term partner of Goldie Hawn.
He is not ranting or raving in his luxurious hotel suite in the West End of London. Far from it.
This dapper and urbane man is sitting one leg crossed over the other, dressed immaculately and smiling serenely.
‘This is what people need to understand,’ he continues when asked about gun reform after the most recent school shootings in the States and the terrorist attack in San Bernardino that left 14 dead and 22 injured.
‘Now is not a good time to lay down your weapons – how will you protect yourself?
‘I am a libertarian, a hardcore one, and of course I have guns. I shoot things with them. I hunt game.’
How refreshing is it to hear a Hollywood celebrity actually understand the importance of the Second Amendment and articulate support for it without shame, fear, or concern for how the left might perceive him?
We certainly need more of this sort of boldness in Hollywood, wouldn’t you agree?
Of course, Russell is spot on in his point about self-defense.
Criminals, by definition, care little for the law or the lives and property of others. They’re inherently selfish, refusing to be productive members of society, willing to destroy your life to enrich their own. How does one protect life and property from such individuals?
Police can’t keep you safe. The average response time for a call is between eight to ten minutes. A whole lot can happen in that time frame. Most of the time, police show up after the fact to try catching a criminal who has already violated you in some way. They are, in reality, powerless to do anything to stop you from becoming a victim.
Your personal safety and security is your responsibility, and one of the best tools to ensure that safety is a gun, which is why the Second Amendment exists.
Kudos to Kurt Russell for being man enough to stand up for the right to bear arms!
