Mossad in America

against American companies and the Defense Department. It also dominates two commercial sectors that enable it to extend its reach inside America’s domestic infrastructure: airline and telecommunications security. Israel is believed to have the ability to monitor nearly all phone records originating in the United States, while numerous Israeli air-travel security companies are known to act as the local Mossad stations.

As tensions with Iran increase, sources in the counterintelligence community report that Israeli agents have become more aggressive in targeting Muslims living in the United States as well as in operating against critics. There have been a number of cases reported to the FBI about Mossad officers who have approached leaders in Arab-American communities and have falsely represented themselves as “U.S. intelligence.” Because few Muslims would assist an Israeli, this is done to increase the likelihood that the target will cooperate. It’s referred to as a “false flag” operation.

Mossad officers sought to recruit Arab-Americans as sources willing to inform on their associates and neighbors. The approaches, which took place in New York and New Jersey, were reportedly handled clumsily, making the targets of the operation suspicious. These Arab-Americans turned down the requests for cooperation, and some of the contacts were eventually reported to the FBI, which has determined that at least two of the Mossad officers are, ironically, Israeli Arabs operating out of Israel’s mission to the United Nations in New York under cover as consular assistants.

In another bizarre case, U.S.S. Liberty survivor Phil Tourney was recently accosted in Southern California by a foreigner who eventually identified himself as an Israeli government representative. Tourney was taunted, and the Israeli threatened both him and journalist Mark Glenn, who has been reporting on the Liberty story. Tourney was approached in a hotel lounge, and it is not completely clear how the Israeli was able to identify him. But he knew exactly who Tourney was, as the official referred to the Liberty, saying that the people who had been killed on board had gotten what they deserved. There were a number of witnesses to the incident, including Tourney’s wife. The threat has been reported to the FBI, which is investigating, but Tourney and Glenn believe that the incident is not being taken seriously by the bureau.

FBI sources indicate that the increase in Mossad activity is a major problem, particularly when Israelis are posing as U.S. government officials, but they also note that there is little they can do to stop it as the Justice Department refuses to initiate any punitive action or prosecutions of the Mossad officers who have been identified as involved in the illegal activity.

In another ongoing Israeli spy case, Stewart Nozette appears to be headed towards eventual freedom as his case drags on through the District of Columbia courts. Nozette, an aerospace scientist with a top secret clearance and access to highly sensitive information, offered to sell classified material to a man he believed to be a Mossad officer, but who instead turned out to be with the FBI. Nozette has been in jail since October, but he has now been granted an additional 90-day delay so his lawyers can review the documents in the government’s case, many of which are classified. If Nozette demands that sensitive information be used in his defense, his case will likely follow the pattern set in the nine-times-postponed trial of AIPAC spies Steve Rosen and Keith Weissman, who were ultimately acquitted in April 2009 when prosecutors determined that they could not make their case without doing significant damage to national security. A month after Rosen and Weissman were freed, Ben-Ami Kadish, who admitted to providing defense secrets to Israel while working as an engineer at Picatinny Arsenal in New Jersey, walked out of a Manhattan court after paying a fine. He did no jail time and continues to receive his substantial Defense Department pension.

The mainstream media reported the Rosen and Weissman trial intermittently, but there was virtually no coverage of Ben-Ami Kadish, and there has been even less of Nozette. Compare that with the recent reporting on the Russian spies who, by all accounts, did almost nothing and never obtained any classified information. It is hard to avoid the conclusion that spying for Israel is consequence free.

  1. Israel has enemies committed to its destruction so it’s no surprise to me that theyll try to gather all the information anywhere it can be found in order to most effectively counter those efforts. From the article it sounds like even those who do it clumsily are able walk away free [although for some reason Pollard is the exception and is still serving a surprising long sentence in jail] so where is the incentive to cease? I suppose that if the US gov’t cared that the Mossad was obtaining this information they’d take steps to prevent it.It’s possible that they’re trying and are just inept but I haven’t reached that conclusion.

  2. That part about USS Liberty survivior being harassed is outrageous. He should have punch out that Israeli jerkwad.

  3. Given the Phil Tourney incident, Mossad may be considering stepping up it’s intimidation efforts to include assault and murder. They’ve done it elsewhere. It’s hard to believe that they would impersonate US government officials without some mutual understanding with our government. Surely line officers within the FBI find this galling. What happens if a law abiding US citizen shoots a Mossad officer? The mind boogles at how our government could keep that under wraps.

I think Israel is operating from Great Britian’s pre-war playbook. The British operated very agressively in the US of the late Thirties, early Fourties. Written acccounts claim there were liquidations.

The question is will the American people allow a foriegn government to run roughshod over them while their own government turns asside? The question answers itself. They are already doing so with the Mexican illegals.

  4. Thanks for this.. No surprise either when considering the AIPAC espionage case as well that Bamford discusses in further detail via the additional section at the end of the paperback version of his ‘A Pretext for War’ book. Captain Ward Boston (who has since passed away) mentioned how he thought the Mossad had assassinated an American intel contact of his when he wasn’t exactly receptive to what the Israelis were doing to undermine America’s national interests:

  6. The USS LIBERTY attack and the Lavon Affair are proof positive that Israel has no problem with killing Americans in an effort to make the attack appear as though the “Muslims did it” and make Americans more pro-Israeli. Fortunately, Admiral Mullen, Chm. of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, warned the Israelis that the US remembers these attacks and that they should not try it again — this time, in an effort to blame it on the Iranians. Israel is hoping for an incident between the US and Iran so that the US will go to war with Iran. Americans should be aware of Israeli treachery.

    I

  7. Well said Jeanne. Big concern is what will Admiral Mullen do with regard to the following as he has been against war with Iran (which will be yet another war for Israel of course!):

Will US Navy board Iranian ships for AIPAC/Israel next month?!

  8. A suggestion, Mr. Giraldi: Check out Pamela Geller. She positively screams “agitprop” to me.

  9. Everybody owes you a debt of gratitude, Phil. Your work in the general area of Israeli spying on the US is always well-done and well worth reading.

We all look forward to the day that Justice gets off its ass and starts nailing both the Israeli spies and the traitors who abet them. As your articles and the many, many FBI cases make clear, there is a grave problem. This is not an ally. It is a parasite addicted to stealing, spying, and manipulating our political process. It is growing more arrogant and dangerous as its crimes are forgiven or ignored.

The fact that some Israeli thug had the nerve to threaten an American veteran right here in America is appalling.

Keep up the good work. You have a lot of readers and supporters out here.

  12. There comes a point where US national sovereignty is at stake. If we allow Israel to spy freely then why not Anna Chapman and co who seemed a lot less competent. What Israel does with information and technology is well out of Americas control ( just how did Pakistan get the bomb?)but the fallout ( literally) may end up all over us. Israel is a dangerous friend in a twitchy part of the world with an agenda that is in no way respectful of our interests. We are always there to protect Israel so a bit of respect and less interference in Americas politics would be appreciated. Videos of Bibi boasting of how he can control the Us senate does not help us deal with othere middle east countries. It’s infuriating. This is not the United States of Israel.

  13. Keep in mind though that US support of Israel’s brutal oppression of the Palestinians was the primary motivation for the tragic attacks on WTC on 9/11 and earlier in 1993 as well (simple look up ‘Israel as a terrorist’s motivation’ in the index of Bamford’s ‘A Pretext for War’ book as well):

  14. The Mossad uses American agents as well to do its PR work for Israel. I wouldn’t be surprised if American neocons such as John Bolton, Richard Perle, Paul Wolfowitz, and even Newt Gingrich were not active members either now or at one time. And one of the major missions of these agents were to and continue to be to convince the American people that any nation or entity that Israel believed to be a threat to its existence was a legitimate target to attack. And we all know the PR campaign that Isarel is using to justify an attack on Iran. This is right out of Haarets this morning:

A campaign for war with Iran begins – War Room – Salon.com

A campaign for war with Iran begins

If neocons can’t get Obama to attack Iran, they are creating a narrative so the next Republican president will

    By Trita Parsi

Obama administration officials, as well as U.S. lawmakers and European diplomats, passionately made the argument this spring that tough sanctions on Iran were necessary to avoid war. But contrary to their predictions, the drumbeat for war — particularly from Israel – has only increased since the U.N. Security Council adopted a new resolution against Tehran in June.

The latest in this crescendo of voices is Jeffrey Goldberg’s article in the Atlantic, “Point of No Return.” As the title suggests, it essentially makes the case (though in an uncharacteristically subtle manner by neoconservative standards) that there are no choices left — war is a fait accompli, and the only question is whether it will be initiated by Israel or by the United States.

“If the Israelis reach the firm conclusion that Obama will not, under any circumstances, launch a strike on Iran, then the countdown will begin for a unilateral Israeli attack,” Goldberg writes.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, in Goldberg’s description, is a man whose back is against the wall. He cannot accommodate the Obama administration on the Palestinian issue because that would upset his 100-year-old father, and he cannot afford to have faith in Obama’s strategy to prevent a nuclear Iran through peaceful means because the threat from Iran is “existential.”

Goldberg interviewed roughly 40 former and current Israeli officials for his piece. Although his access to Israeli officials certainly doesn’t seem to be lacking, the same cannot be said about his treatment of the assumptions behind the Israeli talking points.

The most critical assumption that Israeli officials have presented publicly for the past 18 years — long before the firebrand Mahmoud Ahmadinejad stepped on the scene — is that the Iranian government is irrational and that Iran constitutes an existential threat to Israel.

  16. Mr Giraldi,

on behalf of me and USS LIBERTY Phil Tourney, both of us the recent recipients of death threats from the government of Israel, we heartily thank you, not only for this piece, but for all the invaluable work you do for our country.

    mg

  17. Ron Paul hit the nail on the head when he stated that the neoconservatives are behind the “hate Islam” campaign to prepare Americans for permanent war in the Middle East — Iran is next on their list.

Israel, the neocons and the Israel Lobby in the US have long wanted the US to “take on” the 1.5 billion Muslims in 57 countries while Israel holds our coat and cheer us on. Many more Americans will die in the cause of “taking on” the Muslim world if the neocons, Israel and the Israeli Lobby have their way.

  18. Dear Phil,

Fantstic article in my view the USS LIBERTY slaughter by Israel is the golden key in breaking our PASSIONATE ATTACHMENT twords Israel.

Your article helps so much in getting the truth out, the truth about the USS LIBERTY makes Israel shake in her boots. She will do any thing to countinue the big lie along with the USA helping her cover up the facts is a crime.

On a side note I was wearing my USS LIBERTY jacket and hat I was very easy to spot. The threat on my life was threat on all men that seek the truth or speek it.

Thanks again for your aticle a must read by all Americans.

    Beat wishes,

    Phillip F Tourney

  19. Perhaps several congressmen/women should be investigated as well…..for we all know; Damage is done from the inside out….

  20. This is very disturbing. I am sorry to hear about what happened to Mr. Tourney.

Is the Israeli government so desperate for good PR that they are resorting to intimidation and threats to shut up those that threaten their image, particularly in the States?

Would I put it past them? Nope.

They better hope someone like me isn’t nearby if/when they decide to do this again.

  21. Giraldi writes a very good piece. I’m astounded it’s on AMCON.

    good deal! it’s the TRUTH.

  22. Philip Giraldi’s post on the activities of the Israeli Mossad in the United States should alarm every American. The recent threats to Phil Tourney and Mark Glenn are simply an extension of activities on the part of Israel’s intelligence community which make a mockery of the claim that they are the “leading ally” of the United States in the Middle East. How many spy cases, assassinations, thefts of nuclear materials, and threats issued against Americans not towing AIPAC’s political line will the FBI, Congress, and the President of the United States tolerate?

Mr. Giraldi’s journalistic and intelligence expertise should now be trained on Israeli intelligence’s alliance with the Mujahedin-e-Khalq (MEK/MKO/PMOI/NCRI) and the Zionist/Neo-Conservative link to this Marxist terror organization in both the United States and abroad.

  23. Go get ‘em, Phil. Your work is indispensable. You are one of the most valuable people doing investigative journalism today.

I’m still burned up over the Lani Kass business that you reported. How is it that this Israeli dual citizen is still being permitted anywhere near these botched Predator strikes that kill innocent non-combatants and multiply the number of people in Muslim countries that hate us, i.e. “terrorists”? Is that her real intent? Why is she still on the job? Why hasn’t she been fired? WHAT THE HELL IS AN ISRAELI DOING TELLING THE UNITED STATES AIR FORCE WHAT TO DO?

  24. It is obvious that the highest levels of our political system are not going to enforce the laws and protect Americans. Israel is allowed to spy and even attack us, while illegal aliens are allowed to come into the country wave their flags, take our jobs, take our schools, take our streets and even take our daughters. Mean while the political and financial elite are shipping our industry to foreign nations, and all the while homosexuality is being forced on us.

It is very clear, that we must enforce the laws our selves, or else stand by in a food line and watch an illegal have rape your children, while an Israeli photographs it.

WE must take the laws into our own hands.

  25. Mr. Tourney should’ve first called in the local police and had this Israeli goon arrested if he made physical threats against the two gentlemen. A felony arrest of a Mossad agent, hopefully with media coverage would’ve been delicious. An expose of this arrogant jerk saying that the crew of the USS Liberty got what they deserved would’ve gone a long way towards waking Boobus Americanus up to what Israel really represents. Israel is not our friend and they are not our ally. And I’m getting fed up with pols and the establishment media saying that they are. If this incident took place in San Diego it’s a pretty good bet that this guy getting arrested would’ve gotten wide media coverage…probably front page.

  26. It’s not only in the USA, but, figure aout: behind every Agent of the German Bundesnachrichtendienst, BND, migh hide the face of a Mossad-man or woman. There exists a straight amalgam between the two services. “German guilt” is the main motor, since the beginning of the then West-German Intelligence. Syrien, Iranian officials also should be aware of this, when cooperating with the german service.

  27. Pass it on bhttp://www.antiwar.com/israeli-files.php

  28. What Mr.Giraldi did not mention is that Mark Glenn is a notorious anti-Jewish Holocaust denier and Philip Tourney has spoken at the Holocaust denial group Institutute for Historical Rewiew. How convienent that Mr. Girladi does not mention this. In fact the USS Liberty Survivors organization expelled Philip Tourney for his anti-Jewish activities. Just by reading the comments on this board, it’s clear the usual Jew-haters use Israel as a cover for their hatred.

  29. over the years the usa has been spying on israel at all society and military level

in fact usa is usually sending jewish ambassadors to make that job easy

on several instances idf officers were sent to jail but usually israel just warns the subjects to be careful

all important countries spy on the usa mainly chaina and russia

usa is spying on almost all countries

as for 9 11 everybody knows what has happenned and these articles can not change the facts and after effects

  30. Since when did Uncle Sham need the weight of the “law” to imprison suspected terrorists or “threats” to US interests? The case against Nozette has nothing to do with “law.” The gov’t, in some form or fashion, is obviously acting in collusion with him.

Thanks for reporting on these truly unbelievable, honest-to-god X-Files.

  31. It would be fascinating to read what Mr. Giraldi could unearth regarding the Israel-Turkey intelligence shop swap that Sibel Edmonds has alluded to in her allegations.

Also, Mr. Giraldi might want to highlight the dangerous retainership that Israel has with senior establishment US politicians who articulate her concerns via legislation.

  32. if an american were to impersonate an FBI agent it would be a felony followed by massive jail time. An Israeli does it and gets away with it. They always get away with it!

  33. It’s quite entertaining to see the regular herd of Israel firsters flocking to carry out their usual character assassination.

So now, the allegation goes, Phil Tourney is a Holocaust denying, Jew-hating anti-Semite. I don’t suppose those who advance such lies are in fact advocating vigilante justice, are they?

Let’s assume that Mr. Tourney were indeed what these goons allege. Does that justify attacking him?

You see, this is the same mentality that has driven Israel’s and AIPAC’s policies for decades now. That is to say if someone, anyone, dares criticize Israel, then attacking him and threatening somehow justified. And from there we get the slew of Israel’s brutal policies in the occupied territories and the typical tactics of smear, blackmail, and character assassination around the world.

In the end, Israel and its agents in the US and Europe would like to see it operate above the law, unhindered and without any restrictions — everyone else be damned, including law, justice and humanity. Groups that operate according to similar standards are usually called Organized Crime for a reason.
