A Panicked Bush Is Pushing For His Dictatorship

Smaller Font Larger Font RSS 2.0

himself as dictator.

In two related, and rather frightening stories he is asking that the military be allowed to quarentine whole sections of states in case of the bird flu, and then he expressed the desire to become the commander of the National Guard, which is reserved for the governers of the states. He also wants to be able to declare martial law any time he wants. Put all that together and I call it a "push for dictatorship."

I can understand and almost sympathize with his obvious panic. The Fitzgerald investigation is coming to its conclusion amid widespread rumors [ Tom Flocco , Cloak and Dagger , Sherman Skolnick ] that 22 indictments will be handed down, some involving his administration, and that those will be only the beginning. And Wayne Madsen is reporting that both Bush and Cheney may even be named as unindicted co-conspirators in the Plame CIA outing case.

Kent Steadman has linked two relevant articles at his Cyberspace Orbit website and gives the following summary blurb from the second article.

Bush Wants Right to Use Military if Bird Flu Hits

Pres wants to control Guard

So there it is. He's finally dropped the long awaited bombshell. It is no longer in the realm of paranoid speculation by "conspiracy theorists". The President has openly said we wants the power to assume direct command of the National Guard, use Federal troops in violation of the Posse Comatatus Act and have the ability to declare martial law.

From the article linked above at TruthOut.org by Charles Aldinger:

Tuesday 04 October 2005

Washington - President George W. Bush asked Congress on Tuesday to consider giving him powers to use the military to enforce quarantines in case of an avian influenza epidemic.

He said the military, and perhaps the National Guard, might be needed to take such a role if the feared H5N1 bird flu virus changes enough to cause widespread human infection.

"If we had an outbreak somewhere in the United States, do we not then quarantine that part of the country? And how do you, then, enforce a quarantine?" Bush asked at a news conference.

"It's one thing to shut down airplanes. It's another thing to prevent people from coming in to get exposed to the avian flu. And who best to be able to effect a quarantine?" Bush added.

Having said that he wants all these added powers for the National Guard, he then says that he himself wants to be commander of the National Guard, rather than the states, and wants to be able to take over as such any time by declaring martial law. This is one frightened president being backed into a corner by the Fitzgerald grand juries and fulfilling his famous 2000 post-election statement : [ video link ]

"If this were a dictatorship, it'd be a heck of a lot easier...just as long as I'm the dictator..."

--Washington, DC, Dec 18, 2000, during his first trip to Washington as President-Elect

Bush has grabbed on to the real possibility of an avian flu pandemic like a drowning man in a flood grasps at a passing tree branch, seeming almost anxious for the virus to mutate quickly to human-to-human contagiousness so he can take over the National Guard and declare martial law. Admittedly that's one way he might weasle out of the indictments that the Fitzgerald grand juries may bring. In a recent post Lyndon LaRouche has stated that even a number of Republicans in congress are coming to the conclusion that Bush and Cheney should resign and go quietly, sparing the nation from the trauma of impeachment and possible conviction by the Senate. The Fitzgerald indictments are said to involve [Skolnick, Flocco, Heneghen) all three branches of government, with two Supreme Court justices being named as unindicted co-conspirators in the fraudulent override of the election process, possible involving briber! y.

Dunno if you heard it today...came and went with virtually no comment on CNN but was a bombshell that we knew was coming sooner or later. And now he's said it. Bush was commenting on the possibility of an H5N1 pandemic and said flat out that the President out to have the powers to "move beyond" normal limitations and command the National Guard (he said that specifically) and otherwise use Federal troops to respond to certain emergency conditions, such as for example, enforcing a quarantine.

This (buried) extract from the CNN website:

The consequences of an outbreak in the United States need to be addressed before catastrophe strikes, Bush said.

The president said that he sees things differently than he did as governor of Texas. "I didn't want the president telling me how to be the commander in chief of the Texas Guard," he said. "But Congress needs to take a look at circumstances that may need to vest the capacity of the president to move beyond that debate. And one such catastrophe or one such challenge could be an avian flu outbreak."

Of course LaRouche was correct in saying that both Cheney and Bush are just tools of vast financial interests including the banking, oil and energy cartels and that Bush and Cheney "going quietly" by resigning is just the first step toward a full CLEAN SWEEP of current orgy of corruption in Washington. And I think he is correct in saying that this corruption is international in nature. I am not sure which is best, resignation or impeachment. Full impeachment would probably ferret out more weasles than a dual resignation and it is really the whole criminal neocon gang we want to sweep out, clean and down to the last one. But there is the time factor and the urgency factor, the immanent danger factor that also must be considered. Things are happening everywhere very quickly and we need a fresh start as soon as possible.

One thing we need is something that might be called "Operation Clean Sweep." We have one year until the 2006 elections. We need to begin now creating a short list, possibly a VERY short list, of representatives we can trust are NOT involved, in any way, with the vast sea of corruption that entered our lives with the naming (not election) of George W. Bush as president by the Supreme Court in 2000. We all need to make such lists, then compare such lists to arrive a generally agreed upon short list. And then we must all sweep out every member up for election next year who is NOT on that short list. (I know, please don't remind me... all future election results are controlled by the Diebold machines. I can dream can't I?).

I have such a short list started in my mind, but I would love to hear from anyone with nominations for that short list. Remember, it's called OPERATION CLEAN SWEEP. It's called "starting over." We finish it up in 2008, that is, if elections are held at all by then. The corruption is currently so vast and total that it has become necessary to vote out the entire Congress altogether, with very few exceptions. We need a whole new batch that is not yet fully bought by this criminal cabal, not bribed by them, not blackmailed by them, and not currently under threat of death by them. By some kind of freak miracle the utter corruption of the executive branch seems to be being exposed. If that goes well we must immediately turn around and start working on the legislative branch. After that.... well, you get the idea. And if all that could ever happen we could start in on the ultimate enemy, the corporations and those in control of the scalar weapons.
