Black Hills Voters Learn About Ron Paul Revolution

Smaller Font Larger Font RSS 2.0

For the past few days, Black Hills area voters have been hearing about a new kind of political thinking being formulated by Presidential candidate Ron Paul. Supporters call it the Ron Paul Revolution. And at the Lamphere Campground east of Sturgis, attendees have been hearing from speakers on every subject from the War in Iraq, which Ron Paul opposes, to income taxes. Saturday, one of the featured speakers was an attorney from Louisiana who says he's been fighting the Federal income tax for years. Tom Cryer says progress is being made in convincing the American public to take action against what he calls the unconstitutional growth of the power of the Federal Reserve. Tom Cryer: "In the next couple of months I wouldn't want to make any predictions. But in the next couple of years however, I think we're going to have a currency crisis develop. We're seeing a lot of false maintenance of value of the currency. And at some point I believe the Middle East is going to strike, is going to cause this to come to head. They'll say, we'll sell you all the oil you want but you're going to have to pay for it with gold or silver." The gathering of the past few days is being called the Revolution Freedom Festival, and it has featured speakers talking on politics, but also musical concerts, pork feasts and meat loaf dinners, and book signings.
