Germany, Japan offer support for tougher Russia bans

Germany and Japan have thrown their weight behind tougher sanctions against Russia over the current turmoil in Ukraine.

Speaking at a news conference on Monday, German government spokeswoman Christiane Wirtz said Berlin supports more bans on Moscow.

She added that following the crash of Malaysian Airline flight MH17 in eastern Ukraine, “a completely new situation came about which makes further measures necessary.”

The remarks came one day after German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier expressed Berlin’s readiness to back new economic restrictions by the European Union (EU) on Moscow as long as the burden is fairly spread across the 28-nation bloc.

Meanwhile, Japan’s Chief Cabinet Secretary Yoshihide Suga said on Monday that Tokyo is imposing more sanctions against Russia over its alleged support for pro-Russia forces operating in Ukraine’s eastern provinces. The measures reportedly include asset freezes and restrictions on imports from the Crimean territory.

Suga also called on Russia to put pressure on pro-Moscow activists “so that they will cooperate in the international probe into the Malaysia Airlines shoot-down.”

The developments come as Brussels has already imposed sanctions such as travel bans and asset freezes against Russian and pro-Russia figures. The restrictions were imposed after a decision by Ukraine’s then autonomous region of Crimea to join the Russian Federation in March.

The EU has called for tougher sanctions against Moscow since July 17, when the Malaysia Airlines Boeing 777 was reportedly shot down over Ukraine’s volatile Donetsk region while en route from the Dutch city of Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur, killing 298 passengers and crew on board.

Kiev and the pro-Russians accuse each other of firing a surface-to-air missile at the passenger plane. The West also blames the incident on pro-Moscow forces.

How can anyone commit economic warfare on Russia without a single shred of evidence linking it to the downing of the Malaysia Airlines MH17. The plane was downed by two SU-25 Ukrainian military jets after the U.S. switched flights in mid-air aided by the U.S. Air Force. Putin should now turn off the gas taps and commit energy warfare on Germany. Putin should commit economic warfare on Japan by boycotting all Japanese electronics and cars and instead opting for Korean or similar. It is about time the Japanese moved away from the New Venice powers, after all it was this power who nuked Japan on March 11th aka Tsunami. The problem is this, the New Venetians want Putin to turn off the energy in Europe so they can continue to further demonize the man. So maybe Putin should come up with another plan to hit the Deutsche Verteidigungs Dienst Nazis of Germany aka Deutsche Bank the derivative bank. So this is where the BRICS Development Bank comes into action and hopefully it will sweep away the filth of the Deutsche Bank and the rest of the New Venetian dirt.
